INSTRUCTIONAL SCHOOL DAY: 7:45 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Welcome to December Lieck Families!
Welcome back!
I hope you all had a joyful and restful Thanksgiving break. It’s hard to believe we are already in the final stretch of 2025, with just three weeks until Winter Break!
As we look ahead, please note that the second grading period ends on December 19th. These next few weeks are critical for our students as we continue to focus on academic growth in reading, math, and science. Your support at home, whether it’s encouraging reading, practicing math facts, or engaging in science-related discussions, makes a big difference, and we truly appreciate all you do.
December is a busy month, and we have a lot happening! Be sure to check our event calendar for details on upcoming activities, performances, and special events. We love seeing our families participate in the life of our school, so please join us when you can.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for entrusting us with your child’s education. Let’s make these next few weeks productive, joyful, and memorable!

From Brennan High School Theater:
School Advisory Team (SAT)
Dear Lieck Elementary Families,
We invite you to partner with us in shaping the future of our school by serving on our School Advisory Team (SAT).
What is the School Advisory Team?
Every campus in Northside ISD has a School Advisory Team. The SAT’s primary role is to improve student learning. Members work together to review and provide input on important areas such as the Campus Improvement Plan, campus budget, professional learning plan, and other priorities identified by the principal and team members.
Who serves on the SAT?
The SAT is a collaboration of staff, parents, community members, and business representatives. Each campus must attempt to include:
-
At least four staff members
-
At least four parents
-
At least one community member
-
At least one business representative
We are currently recruiting parents to join our team. Your perspective and voice are essential to ensure that our work reflects the needs of our students and families.
When does the SAT meet?
The SAT meets 3–4 times per year at times convenient for participants. This year’s scheduled meetings are:
-
September 30
-
January 13
-
May 19
Agendas are prepared by the principal and shared in advance. Members also have the opportunity to bring forward additional items for discussion.
How to Get Involved:
If you are interested in serving as a parent member of the School Advisory Team, please contact Ms. Garza @ Jess.Garza@nisd.net.
Your participation makes a difference! Together, we can ensure that Lieck Elementary continues to provide the best opportunities for our students.
With appreciation,
Jessica Garza

SB 12 Parent Consent Form
Dear Parent:
The 89th Texas Legislative Session passed Senate Bill 12, which requires all Texas public schools to obtain annual parental consent for routine physical and mental health services.
On September 10th, the district sent out an email to the parent listed as "guardian one" in eSchool. That parent received an email for each child that attends a northside school. Each email will contain a unique link for that specific student. To comply with this new law, we need you to indicate your consent preference in the unique link for your child. If you have other children enrolled in the district, you will receive a separate email for each of them. The subject line of the email is titled New parental consent requirements.
This consent form describes the routine physical and mental health services provided at the school. In the future, this consent process will be part of our annual data verification.
Thank you for your help as we implement this new requirement.
Please complete the consent form as soon as possible so that we have the most current information on file.
I'm also including a link to the district website for more information nisd.net/district/whole-child/parental-consent-forms
Respectfully,
Jessica Garza

Udpate Your Child's Immunizations
Texas law requires all public school children to have current immunizations to attend class. Northside ISD encourages parents to have their children immunized before the first day of school.
For more information please visit https://www.nisd.net/schools/health/vaccinations
A Word from the Nurse
The school nurse does not diagnose illnesses but takes notes of the symptoms and notifies the parent/guardian of the observations. If a child becomes ill or injured at school, the student will be assessed and given first aid, and the parent/guardian will be notified if the severity of the injury or illness warrants such action.
Children should be kept at home when ill and are expected to be free of fever (temperature less than 100.0° F) and free of communicable diseases in order to attend school. In accordance with the Texas Administrative Code, students are required to be excluded from school until fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications. The Texas Department of State Health Services defines fever as a temperature of 100.0°F or greater. This is important for the health of the child and for the health of all children at the school.
