Project environment:
“Zamojskie Centrum Wolontariatu” (ZCW) is located in Zamość - the city situated in the Southeast part of Poland with 65 600 inhabitants. It is one of the largest centres of culture, history, education and tourism in the region. The biggest potential of the city is the cultural and touristic virtue. The Old Town has a unique urban architecture - it’s called the Ideal City, the "Pearl of the Renaissance" and "Padua of the North". From 1992 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the city there are numerous cultural events and festivals, some of which are supported by the ZCW.
Motivation:
Our main motivations to participate in the European Voluntary Service are:
- To share our experiences with foreigners.
- To intensify the promotion of volunteering, both at local and international level, among the citizens of Zamość who are interested in EVS,
- To give an opportunity to volunteers from abroad to get to know Poland, polish society and culture,
- To improve our communication skills and get to know people from different cultures,
- To share our creative projects with the volunteers' support, such as promotion or organizing the Gala on Volunteer's Day.
Activities for the volunteers:
- Participation in the promotion of volunteering;
- Promoting ideas, planning, creating and organizing events;
- Assisting in the coordination of local volunteering and European cooperation in organizing various activities and projects;
- Helping in promoting the Zamojskie Centrum Wolontariatu and the European Voluntary Service in the local community.
- Cooperating with the School and Youth Clubs Volunteers,
- Participating in the "Ambulance of Languages", "Tandem Languages", "Language Caffe” and ”Evening of Culture" activities;
- Assistance with updating the facebook fanpage and blogging about EVS experiences and reflections;
- Assistance in conducting classes for seniors, as well as artistic and cultural activities for children and youth.
