To the CCPS Community:

The month of February is a month of recognitions and celebrations. We had the privilege of recognizing many of these at this week's Board of Education meeting and you can see each of them below including the recognition of Black History Month Career & Technical Education Month. We are happy to have our Community Partner of the Month recognitions back again. This month we recognized Great Wolf Lodge and Turner Construction for their donation to support Perryville families during the holidays. Also included in the recognition was the Perryville Police Department Outreach Program for all of their work to facilitate the initiative.

In keeping with the "celebration" theme, this week we celebrated our school counselors as this is National School Counseling Week. These dedicated individuals work each and every day to support our students and their families with everything from scheduling classes to providing mental health supports. THANK YOU, COUNSELORS!!

Lastly, I would like to congratulate the Drug Free Cecil Youth Coalition students who attended the CADCA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. last week. The work of these students is making an impact not only in Cecil County but on the national level. We are so proud of them and applaud their work in drug prevention.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
