Hello Cedar Island families,
As we near the finish line on a school year packed full of growth, learning, great times, and experiences our students won’t soon forget, I wanted to reach out and share some reflections on my first year as principal of Cedar Island. There are typically a lot of emotions associated with wrapping up a school year, but personally, I mostly feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to be able to call myself a Bobcat and for the trust this community has put in me to guide Cedar Island forward. I am grateful to the students. Every single day they brought joy, curiosity, fun, resilience, and their “Bobcat Best” to the halls and classrooms of Cedar Island. It has truly been a privilege to get to know them and to watch them grow with wide-eyed enthusiasm.
I am grateful to our exceptionally dedicated and talented staff. They work tirelessly to create the safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that our students so deserve. Alongside them, I am brimming with confidence that each of our goals as a school is within reach.
Finally, I am grateful to you, the parents and families of Cedar Island. I have been blown away by the support and partnership from this community. The ways in which you lift up Cedar Island students and staff are too many to list here, but know that you are deeply appreciated.
We will be sharing back-to-school information in late August, but until then, please enjoy the summer months with family and friends doing whatever it is you do to relax, recharge, and make memories.
