South Jackson 5th graders got their hands a little dirty simulating how erosion contributes to the creation of river deltas.

Starting September 22nd

Learn how to be a smarter shopper in this unique contest, where students learn how to spot quality products and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Students also create a short skit about cotton (costumes, dancing, and slogans recommended).

Practice on Monday's from 4:30 - 6:00 at the 4-H Office starting September 22nd.

Competition November 3rd at Jackson County Ag Facility

4th - 8th graders

Join the EcoDetectives to learn more about local ecosystems, conservation, wildlife, and the importance of preserving green spaces. Activities and lessons will include Project WET, Project WILD, and Project Learning Tree.

Meetings will be on Saturday's from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Cost is $50 for supplies and snacks.

Monthly meetings:

September 27 Hurricane Shoals Park

October 25. Jefferson City Lake

November 15. State Botanical Gardens or Sandy Creek

December TBD.

January 24 4-H Office

February 21 4-H Office

March 28 Tanner Park

April 25 Fort Yargo State Park

I am excited to announce details regarding the 2025 Georgia 4-H Holiday Card Design Contest. The contest rules and entry form are attached. Like previous years, the Foundation will accept scanned entries via email. Please note, entries must be original drawings, paintings, etc. Digitally created or AI entries will not be accepted. Any entry must include 4-H in the theme or message.

Top prize is $100!

Please submit entries to Ms. April or Mr. Jonathan before October 12th.
