NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 5 | 20 AUG 2026
Dear parents and caregivers,
The week began with an exciting sense of anticipation as the new building was officially handed over to the school. With the fences removed and access granted to the new classrooms, we have been able to see the finished spaces firsthand. The next steps involve addressing the final defects, furnishing the classrooms, and preparing for the move-in. It is wonderful to see this long awaited project coming to life, and we look forward to sharing the completed learning spaces with our community.
On Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the Spirit of the Arts concert at Mercy College as part of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival. Our talented Year Two students performed beautifully in the Christian Dance section, demonstrating grace, reverence, and a deep connection to their faith. Congratulations to all the students on their outstanding performance. A special thank you to Mrs Naomi Clarkson and the staff who supported and guided the children throughout their preparation. Your encouragement has helped nurture their confidence, creativity, and love of the arts.
This week we also celebrated National Science Week. Mrs Farmer and Mr McGilloway organised a variety of engaging, hands-on activities that allowed students to explore scientific concepts in fun and creative ways. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and curiosity across the school. Thank you also to Mrs Mackie and our Year Five students for leading the Science Week Assembly. Their presentation was informative, inspiring, and reminded us all of the importance of thinking like scientists and embracing a spirit of discovery.
Looking ahead, next week brings one of my favourite events of the year, Book Week! Our Book Week Dress-Up Parade will be held next Thursday at 8:45am, and I am eagerly anticipating the creativity and enthusiasm that students and staff will bring as they dress up as their favourite book characters. It is always a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination, and the joy that books bring to our lives.
Have a fabulous weekend.
God bless

Week 6
Dear Families and Caregivers,
It has been another busy and exciting week at St Elizabethβs!
It was wonderful to welcome Mr John Laurito, Principal of Mater Dei College, who spoke with our Year 3 and 4 students about what life is like as a Mater Dei student. We thank Mr Laurito for taking the time to share his insights and experiences with our students.
Our Year 5 and 6 students also participated in a beautiful liturgy this week. A special thank you to Father Leonard for celebrating with us and supporting the faith development of our students.
We wish our Year 4 students all the very best as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Please keep these students and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they continue this important step in their faith journey.
There is plenty happening next week, including our much-anticipated Book Week Parade! Please make sure you are aware of the upcoming events and important dates. We cannot wait to see the creative costumes worn by our students and staff.
Have a lovely weekend!
God Bless

Wellness Wednesday 5th August
Yesterday, our school community participated in another fantastic Wellness Wednesday. It was wonderful to see students and families choosing active ways to travel to school, including walking, riding and scooting.

The active-travel momentum will continue next week, when our Year 3, 4 and 5 students participate in the first of four bike-education sessions. These lessons will help students build their confidence, develop safe riding skills and learn how to make responsible choices when cycling in the community.

BOOK WEEK & BOOK PARADE
St Elizabethβs Book Week parade will be held in Week 6 Thursday 27th Aug.
Kindy and Pre-Primary at 8:45am to 9:15am in the hall.
Year 1 to 6 will commence at 9:30am to 10:30am in the hall too.
Students dress up in their favourite character from a book. If your child doesnβt have the book to go with their dressup, you can always check if our school library, has it for you to borrow. Parents welcome to also dress up if you wish. I would suggest the students pack normal clothes in case they would like to play sport at recess and lunch.
Thank you

Fatherβs Day Morning Tea β Dads, Weβd Love to See You!
Weβre looking forward to celebrating the wonderful dads and father figures in our school community at our upcoming Fatherβs Day Morning Tea.
This year, weβve timed the morning tea to coincide with the Fatherβs Day Assembly, making it easy to come along, enjoy a cuppa and a sweet treat, and spend a little extra time celebrating with your children. Weβd love to see as many dads there as possible and make it a fantastic morning for our school community.
We also need a few helping hands!
A small number of volunteers are needed to assist with setting up, serving and packing away. If you can spare a little time to help, weβd be very grateful.
Reminder- We need 1 term notice if you are leaving
