Dear QOA families,

We have some exciting news to share this week: our administration refurbishment will begin during the Christmas holidays! Seven years in the making, this project will finally give our “ramp to nowhere” a destination, with a new entry door into the school administration.

Parents and visitors will be able to use the front steps or ramp to access administration directly from Tribute Street, making this our main administration entrance. Students will continue to access the office through the usual internal hallway.

We expect the refurbishment to be complete when families return for the start of 2027, and we look forward to welcoming you into the refreshed space. Thank you to our School Advisory Council for their support in bringing this long-awaited project to life.

This Friday, 30 October, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. At QOA, we use this occasion to recognise all our staff and the wonderful work they do. Their care, energy and commitment make a difference to our students every day, often in ways that happen quietly behind the scenes. Thank you to our whole team for making Queenies such a special place to learn and belong.

Kindy places for 2027 are almost filled. Don't forget to let your friends and family know to contact the office if they are keen to be a part of the Queenies community!

As you plan for the end of the year, please note that Term 4 finishes for students on Friday 11 December.

Finally, I look forward to seeing everyone at the Queeniewarts Disco on Friday night! Thank you to our P&F and volunteers for bringing some magic to our school community. Get your dancing shoes ready!

Pop into the undercover area before school this Friday and pick up some fresh produce from our community garden!

For $2, take your pick from whatever is ready to harvest, including lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and parsley. Availability will depend on what’s ripe and ready on the day.

All money raised will go straight back into the garden, helping us grow the next crop and bringing sustainability to life for our students and community.

Dear Parents and Carers

Our strong sense of community is one of the things that makes Queen of Apostles so special. It relies on parents and caregivers who generously share their time, ideas and experience.

We are now seeking nominations for our Parents and Friends (P&F) Executive Committee and Catholic School Advisory Council (SAC).

Our P&F strengthens connections across our community by supporting events, parent engagement, advocacy and fundraising initiatives. Our School Advisory Council works collaboratively with me, providing advice and valuable perspectives on the school’s strategic direction, planning and financial stewardship.

I warmly encourage you to consider nominating if you have a genuine desire to contribute positively and work with others for the benefit of our students and school community.

Your involvement can make a real difference, and I would be very grateful for your support. We only hold one meeting per term.
