Tumuaki / Principal Message
Tēnā koutou e te whānau,
Kua tae mai te makariri o Takurua, ā, kua rongo tātou i te hau mātao e pupuhi nei i ngā ata me ngā ahiahi. Ahakoa te makariri, ka mihi mahana ki a koutou e te whānau, e ngā kaumātua, e ngā mātua, e ngā kaitiaki, me tō tātou hapori whānui mō tō koutou tautoko tonu i ā tātou tamariki me te kaupapa o Te Kura o Te Pāroa. Nā te kaha o te whānau me te hapori ka mahana tonu te ngākau o te kura.
This week, we also warmly welcome our new Deputy Principal, Kelly Te Aomarere, who will officially begin her role in Term 3. We look forward to having her join our kura leadership team and wider kura whānau.
A reminder that whānau are welcome to come into kura in the mornings to see the Aka Mātauranga teaching and learning happening in your tamaiti’s classroom. This is a great opportunity to see the kaupapa in action and to be part of the learning journey.
We would like to let our whānau know that there has been a delay with the completion of our building project, due to the roof on B Block needing to be replaced. As a result, our celebration opening date has now been deferred to Friday 31st July.
Although we are waiting a little longer for the official opening, our tamariki are already enjoying the warm, dry learning spaces during this colder weather. With winter well and truly here, we would love to see our tamariki wearing their school sweatshirts to help keep warm. There were some available at Have a Heart Space, or it may be time to dig these out from the cupboards and bring them back into use.
In this newsletter, there is information for whānau about attendance and our action plan for improving attendance. This is part of a Ministry of Education-driven process, and we will continue to work alongside whānau to support regular attendance and positive learning outcomes for all tamariki.
Ngā mihi nui,
Erin Te Pou

Rebuild Update
Kia ora whānau
Build update... Our new windows and doors have arrived! Mauri Ora! We can now see the outside start to take shape more this week and then the team will start on the inside!
We are super excited that we have such good weather to keep the team on track!
Windows on B block are double glazed and help with sound and insulation. A UV tint is going to be trialled to help reduce glare and improve comfort.
Delays have occurred and the project is behind by 4 weeks. Completion of the project is set for mid-June and final handover to be late July.
Carpark & court works have started and will continue over next few weeks, weather permitting of course. Thank you to everyone for the continued resilience and patience over the parking situation.
Our Waharoa is to be reinstated by Friday 31st July. Blessing dates for early next term once all B Block work is completed.
Thank you for your continued patience with the lack of parking around the kura. We anticipate hopefully only a fortnight of inconvenience until the tarsealing work is completed.
School Uniform
Reminder whānau – black pants/tights are NOT to be worn to kura.
The correct uniform colour is navy blue only. Please help support our kura uniform expectations. Ngā mihi.
