A Message from the School Board of Directors
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the children, families, and taxpayers of the Upper Darby School District. As part of the School Board communication plan, the Board sends monthly updates to the school community. The information included in these briefs is not intended to be complete and does not replace official Board minutes. Official meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and presentations are available at BoardDocs. Also, the Board meetings are live streamed to the District's Official UDSD Board & Board Committee Meetings YouTube Channel. We welcome you to follow the issues the School Board is considering and to attend meetings to stay informed.

Re-registration for Rising 6th and 9th Grades for the 2023-2024 School Year
The Upper Darby Board of School Directors voted on the re-registration requirements for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Board requires students who are entering sixth (6th) grade and ninth (9th) grade to re-register with the District. We are accepting re-registrations now. Please complete this as soon as possible.
There are three different ways to complete the re-registration process. For whichever method you choose, you are required to submit the completed re-registration form, two (2) proofs of residency and a government issued photo ID. Your two (2) proofs should include (1): a lease, deed, mortgage statement, or Upper Darby tax bill, and (2) a current utility bill. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Central Registration at (610) 352-2400, ext. 2508 or via email at emonaghan@upperdarbysd.org.
In-person: Please go to the Upper Darby School District Office of Central Registration located at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026
Via email: Please include your child/ren’s name(s) and date(s) of birth (DOB) in the body of the message and attach the following required documents: completed re-registration form, two (2) proofs of residency, and a photo identification. These documents should be emailed to re-registration@upperdarbysd.org.
Via online: Click HERE (https://www.upperdarbysd.org/Page/9886) for the link to the 2023-2024 Online Student Re-Registration form. Please complete the form in its entirety. You will then email the two (2) proofs of residency and photo identification to re-registration@upperdarbysd.org. Be sure to include in your email your child's name and DOB.
Invitation to Participate in the Comprehensive Plan Development Process
The District will be looking for parents, students and representation from local business owners and community members to participate in the school district Comprehensive Plan development process. Stay tuned for a presentation on the process at the November Committee Meeting. The process is expected to begin shortly after Winter Break.
Policy 707, Use of Facilities - Updated
Given the numerous Committee and Board meetings that have featured discussion of Policy 707, Use of Facilities, the Board voted to waive the First Reading of changes and to approve and finalize the updates to this policy discussed at the August 22nd Finance and Operations Committee Meeting. These changes include the waiver of most fees for Youth Groups and Youth Serving activities in the district. However, groups that cancel or fail to show for a scheduled event will be responsible for fees that would otherwise be incurred, and a minimum cancellation fee will be enacted for any situations where no fees would otherwise be applied.
Contract for Renovation of Softball Field - Awarded
The Board approved a contract with All Star Enterprises, Inc of Exton, PA, to provide a complete renovation of the Softball Field at 8201 Lansdowne Avenue in Upper Darby. This field will be for the primary use of the Drexel Hill Middle School Softball Team.
