The Coaching Connection
October 2026 Edition
Progress happens one small step, one student, and one day at a time.
Level Up Together
October is a new month and a new opportunity to make a difference! The work we do each day, whether in the classroom, hallway, office, cafeteria, or behind the scenes, matters to our students and to one another. Take a moment to recognize the small wins, celebrate your impact, and remember that you do not have to do it all alone. We are a team, and I am always here to support you in any way I can!

Literacy Essential Spotlight
Essential #9
As we continue our work around literacy, let’s remember that assessment is more than just a score. Our everyday observations, student work, formative assessments, and progress monitoring help us understand what our students know, what they can do, and where they need to go next.
As you are reading and writing with students, take a moment to notice the patterns. What are they doing well? Where are they getting stuck? What does their work tell you? Use those observations and assessment results to guide your next instructional steps, provide additional support and build on students' strengths.
Remember: We assess to inform instruction, not simply to collect data.

From the BIT Team
September BIT Meeting Update
During our September meeting, we recapped our PBIS Kickoff and discussed our beginning of the year Staff PBIS PD. To gain further clarification and gather feedback from all staff, please complete the PBIS Satisfactory Survey by October 16th (click button link below). Once you complete the survey, send a screenshot to Caitlyn Ceslick of your final page for a chance to win an Amazon gift card!
As a reminder, if you feel a student needs additional support, please complete the Student Referral Form. This form can be used to refer students for additional services, including Tier 2 behavior interventions, counseling, academic support, and more. Every two weeks, the PBIS Tier 2 RADAR Team meets to review these referrals, identify student needs, and determine the best interventions and supports.
As always, if you have questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any BIT Team member!
Classroom Goals
Did your class make their goal? Don't forget to update the classroom goal document and I will create a poster for you with what you want to earn (sorry I have been behind on creating these). Please have a goal created by our staff meeting this week. If you need a tracking poster created let me know.
