The Tiger Times

Week of May 18, 2025
Good Evening Tigers,
This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates. It was a GREAT NIGHT Saturday Night for Ragsdale Prom 2025! Than you to all the students and staff who made it possible!
There are only TEN more school days until exams!! We need every student LOCKED IN and FOCUSED! Every grade matters. Seniors - make sure you are doing all you can to get to that stage on June 11th! And don't forget about some senior events this week: Graduation Walks are Wednesday and Senior Awards Night is Thursday at 6:30.
Senior parents and families, if you have not yet filled out the FASFA, we encourage you to do so! There will be a FASFA night at GTCC on Thursday, June 5 if you would like assistance completing it. See our newsletter for more information. Also see our newsletter for ways to sign up to help with the Senior Picnic - it is coming up on May 30th!
Parents, don't forget that if your child will be a new bus rider, attending a new school, or has had an address change for next school year, you should complete the 2025-2026 online Transportation Preference form by Friday, June 13th to guarantee transportation on the first day of school. This is especially important for rising freshman- so if you are that family or know a family, please remind them!
Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Joyful Learning and Celebrations
Congratulations to our students of the week!
- Kim Chavis – 12th grade – nominated by Ms. Alston - she says of Kim, “She continues to work hard even when she gets discouraged. She brings donuts when it is her birthday and even after taking her AP Bio exam, she was all smiles. Kimberly is sweet, friendly, and a hard worker. She has the ability to be whatever she dreams of becoming.”
- Madison Gray – 9th grade - nominated by Ms. Bolen – she says of Madison, “Madison has improved SO much this semester. She has been working really hard to learn and process all that Biology has to offer! Madison's diligence has led to her doubling her number of mastered standards! Madison displays a genuine thirst for knowledge, accountability for her own learning, and a drive to be better everyday. Thank you, Madison, for all your hard work and keep pushing! I am so proud of you.”
- Myles Cooper – 11th grade - nominated by Coach Braswell – he says of Myles, “Myles continues to be a leader in my class, still working out in PE & giving the same effort as the first week of the semester! Where some of his peers may struggle, Myles excels.”
Joyful Learning and Celebrations
Current NHS members welcomed new NHS members with a before school get-together.
Congratulations to Aaliyah Akers on her signing her letter of intent to continue her lacrosse career at Greensboro College! Our lacrosse teams also enjoyed a wonderful end of season banquet on Thursday.
Congratulations to six of our seniors for completing their Senior Presentations!
While some things are winding down, others are gearing up! AP Lang students enjoyed working on debate skills when their classmates were taking another AP exam, and some of our seniors were highlighted in a GCS communications video about the graduating class. After school, the 25-26 football team is getting spring practice in!

Senior Parents
Hello Senior Parents,
Can you believe it's Spring semester of our children's last year in high school! Such an exciting time for everyone. I hope each of your students have had a great four years of learning at Ragsdale and that they will take with them many happy memories of their time spent there. There are lots of fun activities planned for the Seniors in the upcoming weeks and we can use your support. We are planning a picnic on May 30th at the school after one of the scheduled graduation practices. There will be food and drink, the Kona Ice truck, and some fun games for everyone to play. We are asking for donations to help fund the day. On the flyer below is a QR code that will take you to the Ragsdale PTSA website where you can make a donation for the picnic and a code for volunteering and providing giveaway gift cards!
Thank you for your support,
Linda Honeycutt
