Mr. Hilton's Highlights
Another Great Week in the Books & Exciting Things Ahead
Hello:
It was great seeing the parents of the kiddos in grades 1-5 last night at our Parent Information Night. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher and they can fill you in on what was covered. Please feel free to let us know if you have further questions as the year goes along. Emails or TalkingPoints are good methods of contact but do not hesitate to call any of us either.
On Friday, September 18, the PTO is sponsoring our annual Rock-A-Thon (Fun Run). This is our largest PTO fundraiser and all money raised will go back to support student activities and experiences. Students will bring detailed information about Rock-A-Thon home on Tuesday. We are still finalizing the schedule for September 18, but would love for you to join us. If you plan to join us, please make sure you have your SafeVisitor background check completed.
You are able to get your background check here. If you received an email that your background check has expired you will need to reapply. Examples of activities in the schools where visitors will need a completed SafeVisitor background check are:
Lunch Guests
Classroom Parties
Classroom Volunteers/Helpers/Room Parents
Field Trip Chaperones
Any time you plan to go past the office
Starting on Monday, September 14, we would love to invite parents in to have lunch with their child if they are available. Please remember that a SafeVisitor background check will be required for anyone who visits our schools, including family members of our students.
The car rider line has been going much smoother, both at arrival and dismissal. Thank you for helping make the process run more efficiently! To help keep our students safe, we are asking that there are no moving cars while students are on the main sidewalk. Once all students are safely off the main sidewalk, we will dismiss the vehicles to leave. Please do not pull around other vehicles as soon as your child is out of the car. We will dismiss all vehicles at the same time because we do not want cars moving while students are still on the main sidewalk. Finally, please remember that if you arrive after 7:45 a.m., you will need to park in the front parking lot and walk your child into the office. Thank you for helping us keep our kiddos safe!
Transportation is looking for bus drivers! If you know someone who would enjoy driving a bus, please have them reach out to the Transportation Department. We currently have a couple of buses that need drivers for Cool Creek. We have the best kids, so who wouldn’t want to drive them? 😊
Have a great weekend,
Andy
Make Your Voice Heard — Register to Vote
Voting is one of the most important ways we participate in our community and our democracy. As a school district, we believe in preparing students to be engaged, informed citizens, and we encourage every eligible member of our community to exercise that same civic responsibility.
The deadline to register to vote in Indiana for the November 3 General Election is October 5, 2026.
Whether you need to register, update your registration, or simply check your voter registration status, visit IndianaVoters.in.gov.
Be informed. Be engaged. Make your voice heard.

Safe Visitor Background Checks
Planning to Volunteer? Get Ready Now!
If you think you may want to volunteer, help with a classroom party, join your child for lunch, or chaperone a field trip this year, now is a great time to complete your background check.
Westfield Washington Schools uses SafeVisitor for visitor management and background checks. Because the approval process can take 3–6 business days, completing your background check now will help ensure you're ready when an opportunity comes up. The $12.95 background check is valid for four years and can be used at any WWS school.
Don't wait until the field trip permission slip comes home—check this one off your back-to-school list now!
Protect the Tech
Chromebook Protection Plan
Families of students in grades 3–12 can purchase optional Chromebook protection through K12 Tech for $23 per student. While the plan is not required, it is highly recommended since Chromebook repairs can be costly.
The plan covers accidental damage throughout the school year with no deductible and includes multiple damage incidents.
Please note: Students in Kindergarten–2nd grade do not need to purchase the protection plan.
