Current Events
Dear Families,
Back to School/curriculum information nights: The 2/3 Back to School night was well attended. The students were very dignified as they introduced their families and were eager to engage them in different activities. It was a pleasure to witness the pride families conveyed as they moved around the classroom. The 4/5 information night is this coming Tuesday, 10/6, 5:30-6:30.
National Custodian’s Day: I want to thank Monte again for taking such good care of our school. I am always amazed at how much he keeps in mind and notices as he works throughout the building. We are fortunate to have someone who looks after the school with such care.
Early release - no childcare: Just a reminder that there will be no childcare offered this year for the early release days. (The first one this year is this Wednesday, October 7.) In order to provide after care, we are required to have school staff members present. We can no longer free staff up to support a the volunteer to oversee the program. I know this creates complications for you. Thanks again to Erin Davis for working so hard to make this happen in the past.
Common Room/Boiler Room/Kitchen: I’m hopeful that the work to put the Common Room area and kitchen will begin next week. The insurance adjuster was here Thursday and as soon as that report is in, work should get started. The plan is to get the closets redone first so that the Common Room can be cleared and P.E., Music, and Maker Space can resume. Working also to clear the kitchen area enough to resume preparing and serving meals is a priority. It looks like at least another two weeks to get that much done.
Lunch volunteers: Unfortunately, we still won’t be needing volunteers for another couple of weeks. We miss you and hope to be back to our usual service soon.
Reminder: Please send rain gear with you children when rain is in the forecast.
Have a restful weekend.
Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301),
Best, Christina
