ππ° Dollars for Scholars (New Name formerly Penny Fridays) π°π
As we prepare to host our 30th Annual Jingle Bell Jog, we will have our first Dollars for Scholars on Friday, October 31st. We started this community service project 30 years ago to raise money for a Marcus Cross Country scholarship. The Marcus Cross Country team has celebrated our Jingle Bell Jog with us for 30 years. It began as Penny Friday, but we would like to transition to Dollars for Scholars Friday to increase our scholarship and decrease the time it takes to count all of those pennies. Of course, we will accept any and all donations, but encourage our students to bring a dollar or more if they can.
To honor the founders of our Jingle Bell Jog, Sandy Corey and Steve Telaneus, we will donate a percentage of our donations to The American Heart Association. Sandy was the first PE teacher that opened Prairie Trail and Steve was the first Cross Country coach at Marcus to commit to creating this annual event to encourage our kids to stay active and have fun while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Last year we raised almost $2,000 and we would like to meet that goal again this year! Every Friday from now until December 5th, we will be collecting change or dollar bills to support this community service project.
The grade level that raises the most money by December 5th, will receive a choice day in P.E. after the Jingle Bell Jog on December 12th.
Kindergarten will not participate in the actual jog, but usually attend as spectators. We look forward to them joining us in the jog when they become 1st graders. They are welcome to participate in our Dollars for Scholars community service event.
Thanks for your support!
Ms. Massa

Visitors for Lunch other than Parent/Guardian?
Do you have some special visitors who want to have lunch at PTE with a student and the parent/guardian won't be coming with them?
We can help you make that happen. You just need to fill out THIS FORM using an email that is listed for a parent/guardian of the student in Skyward. If you could fill out the form before 9:00 am the day they plan to come to lunch, we can make that happen.
The visitor will still need to bring their ID and check in through the office.
If the parent/guardian will be coming to lunch with the special visitors, there is no need to fill out the form. You being with them is sufficient.
Let us know if you have questions.
Thanks,
PTE Office Staff
π Bus Rider Information - IMPORTANT! π
Lewisville ISD will take over transportation operations for the district for the 2025-26 school year. Check out the video below for details on what to expect from LISD's transportation services this school year.
Visit LISD.net/transportation for details, including the Here Comes the Bus app and bus locator.
If you have any question or issues regarding buses, please remember to call 469-713-5983. If you have a child that rides the bus, I highly recommend that you put this number in your contacts.
There is also a video on the above website with more important information.
If students ride the bus home and are undeliverable due to not having an updated address in Skyward, the driver will return the student to the elementary campus as to not delay their high school routes. If you have not already updated your information in Skyward, please do so ASAP! Check that you address is updated in Skyward so that your children can be assigned to the correct bus. π
