πŸ“’ TELPAS Testing for Emergent Bilingual Students πŸ“’ πŸ“’ TELPAS Testing for Emergent Bilingual Students πŸ“’

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Our Emergent Bilingual students (students whose first language is Spanish) from second to fifth-grade, will be taking the TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System) the week of February 17.

TELPAS is a state assessment that measures students' progress in learning English. The test includes four domains: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This helps us understand how well students are developing their English skills and what support they may need.

To help your child prepare, you can find practice resources here. (SelectTELPAS Practice Sets).

Thank you for your support in ensuring your child is ready for TELPAS! If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Breakfast in the Classroom Implementation – Policy Shift Breakfast in the Classroom Implementation – Policy Shift

The district is shifting to a Breakfast in the Classroom model for all elementary schools in alignment with policy CO (LOCAL). This change will require adjustments to our morning arrival routines to ensure a smooth start to the day.

Starting February 10, 2025, Breakfast in the Classroom will begin for Pre-K–2nd grade. Insulated bags with breakfasts will be delivered to classrooms before the opening bell, and teachers/aides will facilitate breakfast service, including roster documentation as required by TDA guidelines.

We will introduce a revised morning arrival plan to support this transition. More details about the new plan and teacher training will follow later this week
