Redmen Review

Students in Ms. Lady's English I classes have been spending time reflecting and planning as part of their "Flight Plan" writing and presentation project.

This activity was anchored from three informational texts the class read about the challenges and successes of each of the characters in The Highest Duty, Woman who Dared to Dream, and Volar. All of these stories have a theme that fulfilling one's highest purpose requires courage to dream and plan.

Students were asked to dream and plan about what personal and professional goals they would like to achieve, as well as what steps or challenges they might face in the process.

Be like Mr. Karst's students pictured at right, and take a break from your studies or workout to follow all the State Wrestling coverage of the SHS teams in Sioux Falls this weekend!

Students and staff have been enjoying the Sisseton FFA chapter's celebration of National FFA Week with dress up days, coloring contests, and of course, the traditional homemade ice cream and slushies!

The FFA Chapter will soon be busy practicing for and traveling to spring career development events to demonstrate their skills in Agronomy, Dairy Cattle Evaluation, Floriculture, Livestock Judging, and (for the first time!) Poultry Judging, among others, before traveling to the State Convention in April.

A big congratulations to the SHS gymnastics team who placed 5th in the team competition two weekends ago at the state competition held in Mitchell! The last time the team placed was 12 years ago.

Individually, Izzy Metz placed 5th all around and received the Sara Nitz Award! Bri White tied for 10th place on vault, while Scarlett Hanson just missed the vault podium and tied for 11th place. Coach Klapperich stated that, "the whole team was invested in their goals at the end of the season and we couldn’t be more proud of them all!!" Well done, ladies!
