Lost and Found

During our end-of-the-year celebrations, we will have a table set up with lost and found items. Please take a moment to look through the items to see if any clothing or belongings may belong to your child. Any leftover items will be donated to the local cancer center following the celebrations. Thank you for your help and support!

SHS Summer Youth Camps

The high school summer sports camps are a great opportunity for students to build skills, stay active, have fun, and meet new friends. Camps are available for a variety of sports and skill levels.

We hope your child is able to participate in a few of the camps this summer and enjoy these great opportunities!

Cross Country Camp

The Shelbyville Cross Country teams will be hosting a 3-day morning running camp for rising 4th-8th graders, June 8-10 at Blue River Park in Shelbyville. We are opening this opportunity up to anyone in the county who would like to participate!

Registration should be done online (link below) before camp. Register by June 1 to guarantee a shirt size! All information can be found on the at the top of the registration form

Books…Books…and more Books!!!

As we celebrate the end of the school year, we will have tables set up with books for families to take home for summer reading. Please feel free to take as many books as you would like for your child to enjoy at home this summer.

We want to continue encouraging students to read at least 20 minutes each day over the summer and help make sure all students have books in their hands. We have several different genres and plenty of books for everyone. Thank you for continuing to support our 90% reading goal and encouraging your child’s love of reading!

This past week is the last for book check out. The coming week of May 11-May 15 is book return for all students. We require all library book return is by Wednesday, May 20 so

inventory can be completed by Friday, by May 22.

Students will have an opportunity to pull an item from the Library Treasury box if they have their blue Log as their ticket from the last nine weeks. Students will also have the option of a free book

instead of the treasure box. Please look at home for any additional library books that may be hiding on shelves, under beds, in closets or by couches! We would rather have the books back

instead of having to charge our families for new books! Thank you so much for helping us to take care of our 8416 book collection! Happy Summer, keep reading!

Reminders & Updates for Spring 2026

Cell Phones – Indiana law now prohibits cell phones in the classroom and at school. Please keep this in mind if your child brings a phone to school.

Attendance – A new law requires interventions and parent conferences after 5 unexcused absences in a 10-week period. More information will be sent home this week.

Dress Code – Students must wear shoes with a back. No slides, backless sandals or flip flops, or shoes without backs are allowed for safety reasons. Please remember that bike shorts, short crop tops, etc are not allowed.

Tardies– Just a reminder that the tardy bell rings at 7:45. Students arriving after this time will be marked tardy.

Tardy students must be signed in by a parent or guardian. Students may not sign themselves in or be dropped off without an adult if they arrive after the tardy bell.

Please help make sure your child arrives on time so they do not miss important instructional minutes at the beginning of the day when routines, breakfast, and the tone for learning are being set.

Transportation Changes – Must be called in by 1:00 PM. After this time, changes cannot be accommodated. Just a reminder that students being picked up after 2:00, need to be picked up in the car rider line.
