Week 10 of 37 weeks

We hope that all of our Conquistador families had a beautiful intersession and fall break. We are now ready and excited to begin our Quarter 2- Second Nine Weeks. Talk to your teen about how they feel their 1st nine weeks went in each of their classes and set goals to make an even better 2nd nine weeks.

I am also excited to see our second nine weeks sports begin- Golf, Wrestling, Girls Soccer and Boys Soccer for 7th and 8th Grade. The 6th grade intramurals will be Volleyball for the second quarter.

Our STEM competitions also begin this Quarter 2 and our students continue to grow in their learning, as we prepare them for 2024! Thank you families for continuing to support your teens as they navigate middle school. Together we can make their experience smoother!

Tardies- 1st Period Tardy bell is at 8:30 a.m.

All tardies count towards a discipline referral:

1st period tardies

Your student needs to be at school between 8:15 a.m. and 8:20 a.m.

The first bell rings at 8:25 a.m. for students to report to class.

Students are TARDY at 8:30 a.m.

Help us get back to #1! Help us get back to #1!

Attendance Matters! You miss one day, you miss a lot!

DVMS has barely inched down to the #2 spot in YISD attendance behind Eastwood Middle school. Families we need your help!! It is important that your child is in school every day.

If you look at the second graphic, our students are staying home more frequently on Monday's and Friday's== notice the orange drop in attendance. Let's not get the bed blues and let our teens stay in bed or on video games! We need our Conquistadores to be in school learning and socializing. They can take naps when they get home (as I always do).

6th -97.01 % Great job 6th graders on showing up to school!

7th- 96.3 % Good job 7th grade on being over 96&

8th-95.71% -- Families, if you have an 8th grade student it is important to build healthy attendance habits before they reach high school! Help us make sure our 8th grade students are in school daily! Attendance can keep students from moving on to High School!
