TASTE TESTING SUCCESS - APRIL 21 & 22
Wayland Food Service has been looking for a new and improved pizza option that will both satisfy pizza-loving students and meet school lunch nutritional guidelines. In April, High School and Middle School students were given the opportunity to sample a NEW pizza option with a fluffier crust.
WHAT'S NEW?
- Delicious thicker, fluffier crust
- Add-on sauces & seasonings
The new pizza got rave reviews and an impressive 100% approval rating from students! 50 pizzas later and not a piece was left behind by students! That's a resounding "thumbs up!"
This new pizza option has been added to menus and is currently offered as part of the FREE MEALS program! If your student hasn't tried this NEW Pizza yet, encourage them to give it a try!

🍀Students enjoyed leprechaun hijinks and St. Patrick's Day FUN in their cafeterias! From shamrock shaped pretzels, to everything GREEN... the Lunch-Lady-Luck-'O-the-Irish made for a special day!🍀

FIELD TRIP - SACK LUNCHES
Did you know?
Sack lunches are available for most classroom field trips if the trip includes the lunch period. Sack lunches can be pre-ordered using an order form sent home by the teacher before the field trip. Lunches include a sandwich, fresh fruit, fresh vegetable, drink, and napkin kit. These pre-ordered sack lunches are FREE as part of the FREE MEALS program!
OUTSTANDING PEOPLE FOR EDUCATION
At the Board of Education meeting on April 13th, over 90 WUS staff and teachers were recognized for their positive impact on students and the school district. Food Service Kitchen Assistant at Baker Elementary, Kathy Moore, was among those recognized! Thank you, Mrs. Moore, for your positive energy and friendly smile that has supported and positively impacted the day of so many young students over the past 25 years! Thank you for all YOU do!
