Growing Learners, Cultivating Leaders, Creating Legacies! Growing Learners, Cultivating Leaders, Creating Legacies!

Leadership and Learning are indispensable to each other

– John F. Kennedy

Have a great summer!

As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, the Lebanon Public Schools community has much to celebrate. We wrapped up the year with a series of meaningful and memorable events that highlighted the accomplishments, spirit, and unity of our students and staff. High School Awards Night was a proud moment, recognizing the hard work and achievements of our students in academics, athletics, leadership, and service. Across all three schools, Field Day brought smiles, laughter, and a strong sense of community as students enjoyed fun and friendly competition under sunny skies.

One of the most heartwarming traditions—our Senior Walk—saw graduating seniors return to the elementary and middle schools to be applauded by their former teachers and cheered on by our youngest learners, a powerful symbol of legacy and inspiration. Beautiful weather graced our Moving Up, Promotion, and Graduation ceremonies, making each celebration extra special for students and their families. We concluded the school year with a respectful and patriotic Flag Day ceremony attended by State Representatives DeCaprio, Ackert, and Senator Osten, followed by “The Wave” — a joyful send-off as students headed into summer break.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and restful summer filled with time spent with family and friends. We will be excited to welcome everyone back in the fall and can’t wait to see what the 2025-2026 school year brings!

Please be on the lookout for the Superintendent Summer and Back to School Updates which will contain helpful information to help you kick off the new school year.

It was a beautiful morning on Friday, June 13th for Lebanon Elementary School's Flag Day ceremony. Students read facts about the flag and Mrs. Shuman led our school in the singing of the National Anthem and Grand Ole Flag. We would like to give a special thanks to State Representatives Ackert and DeCaprio as well as Senator Osten for attending the ceremony. Additionally, we are always proud to have local veterans joining us to raise the flag.

Meal Balances

Families, we are sharing this flyer with you again to encourage you to create a FREE MyPaymentsPlus account to make payments, view balances and better understand the purchases your child is making in the cafeteria.

In following our Board of Education Meal Charging Policy (5004) the district will contact the parents/guardians of students who charge meals to their meal accounts in order for the District to collect the delinquent debt. The first such communication will be a written communication, by mail or e-mail. Subsequent written and verbal communications with parents/guardians concerning delinquent debt will be made by the building administrator or designee, as may be necessary and appropriate.

Child Find

Lebanon Public Schools actively seeks to assist children and families by locating, identifying, and referring children from birth to age 22 who require special education and related services. If you are concerned about a child's development, you are encouraged to contact Lebanon Elementary School to receive information about Early Childhood Screenings.

If the child is younger than 3 years of age, you may choose instead to contact the Connecticut Birth to Three System at 1-800-505-7000.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact 860-642-5636.

Lyman Memorial High School Social Worker and District Family Care Coordinator

With legislation over the summer, a family care coordinator has been added to the growing number of mental health staff that CT recognizes will further support our children and families in the school setting. The family care coordinator role already encompasses what our Lebanon school district mental health teams provide for students and families. Providing students with access to mental health resources within the community and bringing mental health services to students inside of the school has always been a priority in our district. Please reach out if there are any specific mental health topics, community programs, therapeutic referrals or town programs and resources that you would like to know more about. Below are a few programs and resources for students and families.
