Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians

As you are now aware we will transition to Remote Learning for Thursday and Friday. We are scheduled, as of now, to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, 1/18/22. Monday, 1/17/22 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we are not in school. This is a very rapid transition and places considerable strain on staff, students, and families. Please know I completely understand flexibility is the key over the next week for everyone. We understand we have families who have illnesses, older kids who will be monitoring younger kids and numerous other challenges. We are here to support however we can. Please encourage your students to check in with each of their classes tomorrow and to be sure to check emails and google classrooms.

Please be aware of the following points:

• We have provided available hotspots to students in need today.

• Students attending MATC will have in-person school at Mid-America the next two days. The bus for Mid America will run as usual. MATC has also graciously allowed students to attend campus during the virtual half of the day if they choose.

• We are on regular schedule Friday (NO Virtual advisory)

• Attendance is required for every virtual class and will be recorded on Infinite Campus Thursday and Friday. Attendance can be counted based on the following factors (see below) at the discretion of the teacher. However students should not panic if they are unable to login for whatever reason. Simply send an email to your teacher or call the school when you are able and you will NOT be counted absent.

1. completion of assigned work via/ google classroom
2. virtual check-in via a google meet
3. email or check-in on google classroom

• Teachers will have work/lessons posted to Google Classroom tomorrow and Friday. However we fully understand some students may experience tech issues and could also be responsible for monitoring younger siblings or simply be sick. Flexibility for everyone!

• Students will NOT be required to check-in to mandatory google meets each hour tomorrow. Some teachers will schedule google meets as relevant to their instruction. These teachers will provide specific instructions to individual classes.

• Teachers will be available for help through a google meet. Please make sure students connect with teachers through email or google classroom if they need extra assistance.

• Please reach out to me (Mr. Sanders) if you need assistance or are experiencing internet or power issues that prevent students from accessing work or receiving help. No students will be penalized due to issues outside their control.

• Please remind students to check their emails and individual google classrooms regularly. Every class will have work or a lesson posted for tomorrow and Friday. Students are accountable for every lesson posted tomorrow and Friday.

• Meal distribution plan will be in effect on Thursday, 1/13. Meals can be picked up at Purcell Elementary School (809 N. 9th Ave.) starting at 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 13th.

• Extracurricular events and practices will continue as scheduled.

• Alt Ed (night school) will be virtual Thursday night

• We will provide more information when available.
