WHS Weekly Update

April 20, 2020

WHS WeeklyUpdate April 20, 2020
Hello again WHS Staff and Families!

I hope this newsletter finds you all healthy and making the best of our new social distancing reality. Every week seems to bring some surprises, like our recent snow in April. The near 60 degree temperatures the next day made short order of that ground covering, and the daffodils popped right back up to grace our gardens and roadsides.

We are entering week three of Phase 2 of our Remote Learning Plan and I remain very impressed with the work that the staff is doing to create meaningful lessons for students in this new virtual instruction phase we have entered. Our fabulous staff has risen to the challenge and I encourage students to take full advantage of the excellent learning opportunities that staff is creating for you. It is important that you remain engaged in your learning so that you can earn credit for the second half of the year and be positioned for your future success when you re-enter traditional classroom learning at WHS or beyond.

Course Selection Updates

With the help of Rashmi Pimprikar, the WPS Coordinator of Digital Learning and Libraries, we are putting the finishing touches on a video that features a welcome from the WHS Administration and a description of the curriculum offerings by each of the department Curriculum Coordinators. Since we cannot invite groups of people to the school, we invite you to view the course information via the video, which should be posted on the WHS Website by Monday, April 27th. The Curriculum Coordinators will follow up with Zoom Office Hours for student and parent follow-up questions. You can find the 2020-2021 WHS Program of Studies by clicking the embedded link. On our website, you will find it under the Student Resources drop-down menu.
