BVMS - School Site Council
Title ~ 2026- 2027
Title I Notifcation
Our school site has been designated as a Title I school for the 2026-2027 school year. This designation provides our school with additional federal funding to help support our students' academic achievement, especially those who may be at risk of falling behind. Title I is a part of federal law and funding, and it aims to ensure that all children have access to a high-quality education and the opportunity to meet challenging state academic standards.
Title I funding is allocated to schools based on the number of students designated as socioeconomically disadvantaged, as reported by their parents. This funding is used to provide extra resources and support for students who need it most. Title I schools use this funding for a variety of programs such as:
- Additional academic support services
- Instructional programs
- Educational resources and materials
- Professional development for teachers
The goal of Title I is to close the achievement gap and ensure that every child has the support they need to succeed.
School Site Council
As part of our commitment to enhancing the educational experience for all students, each Title I school has a School Site Council (SSC). The SSC is a decision-making group made up of elected parents, teachers, school staff, administrators, and students (middle schools only) who work together to support student achievement. The SSC helps develop and review our school’s goals, funding priorities, and the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). While members are elected to serve on the council, all SSC meetings are open to all families and members of the public. We encourage you to attend, listen in, and share your input—your voice matters!
Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us through the school office.
