Highland Lakes School: November Newsletter
As the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaches, giving us time to pause and reflect, we at Highland Lakes School want to shine a special light on the greatest blessing we have: our incredible students!
This school year has been filled with so many moments for which we are truly grateful:
Gratitude for Growth: We are thankful for the dedication and hard work you show every day in your classes. Seeing you tackle challenges and celebrate academic achievements fills us with pride.
Gratitude for Community: We are thankful for the positive energy and supportive spirit you bring to our hallways, lunchrooms, and extracurricular activities. You make our school a welcoming place.
Gratitude for Resilience: We are thankful for your strength and flexibility as you navigate new subjects and experiences.
We wish all of our students and families a restful and peaceful holiday filled with warmth and good food. We are so thankful to be on this journey with you.
Make it a great day, the bear way!
BEAR A THON! π»
Our HLS PTSO is excited to share that we have just passed $78,000 raised for Bearathon! That is truly unBEARlievable. We will continue collecting donations until December 3rd. As we head into Thanksgiving break, this is a great opportunity for students to reach out to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends who may want to support their efforts. Every donation helps students earn individual and class prizes, and these contributions make a big difference.
Most importantly, every single dollar stays right here at Highland Lakes to support our students, teachers, and programs. Thank you to all of our Bears and Bear families for helping us surpass our goal! We are so proud of and so grateful for this incredible HLS BEAR community!
A message from the Cafeteria.
Due to the high volume of meals we are preparing and serving for our annual Thanksgiving lunch, we will not be selling afternoon snacks that day.
We want to ensure we have all hands focused on providing a smooth and delicious lunch service. For Thursday, the only available lunch options will be:
Traditional Thanksgiving Lunch: Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner roll, and pumpkin pie w/ whipped topping.
Grab and Go Bag: Yogurt, cheese stick, chocolate chip muffin top, carrot sticks, and fruit.
All students must select one of these two options.
Regular snack sales will resume as usual on Friday, November 21st.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we celebrate the holiday season!
Best regards,
