Targeted Intervention

As we settle into our own unique rhythms, it's time to assess our challenges as a class. If each classroom can target their specific issues. Here are some examples:

1. Does your class struggle with restlessness and "the wiggles?" Add Go-Noodle breaks and brain breaks.

2. Does your class get lethargic and lose their energy? Try an afternoon snack calendar.

3. Do you have a student who is a main "pot-stirrer" for issues in class? Make them your right-hand man and give them responsibility.

Every class is different, so the key is to target your classroom and do what works for you. Throw out the book on this one and give your village what it needs.

1. Focus on classroom and school Climate.
2. Establish classroom and school norms.
3. Classroom and schoolwide routines and procedures.
4. First 30 days of Guided Reading with consistency; district mandate
5. Chromebook Procedures, Acceptable Use Policy
6. Digital Citizenship Curriculum
7. Focus on positive language and PBIS
8. Prepping Lexia and Prodigy for use; Clever logins
9. Class Dojo running in each classroom; share with admin

The TLE Department is excited to announce that the Teacher Guidelines for 2017-2018 have been approved and finalized, please see attached. We have included below, critical dates to keep in mind and other pertinent information that will assist you this year. Training will be provided at the upcoming Principal’s Meeting. Observation Deadlines

· September 22, 2017 – Informal Observation

· December 8, 2017 – Formal Observation (Pre- and Post-Conferences)

· December 8, 2017 – Mid Point

· March 30, 2018 – Informal Observation

· March 30, 2018 – Final Evaluation – electronic signature

· Plan for Improvement

If a teacher has an overall rating of 2.49 or below after two observations that count toward the final evaluation and in one (1) or more Elements at a 2.0 or below, the teacher may be placed on a Plan for Improvement.
