Principal's Message Principal's Message

Welcome back, Maple families! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful winter break and is feeling refreshed as we begin the second half of the school year. This is a reminder that this Monday—and all Mondays—are early release days, with all students dismissed at 1:30 p.m.

Rain is expected for much of the week, so students will enter campus through the MPR each morning and wait there before school begins. With wet weather, please take extra care in the parking lot and drop-off areas—drive slowly, watch for pedestrians, and help us keep everyone safe during arrival and dismissal.

We are excited for all that lies ahead this semester, including a highlight for our 5th graders, who will be attending the Fulcrum Stand Proud ropes course field trip on Tuesday—a wonderful opportunity for teamwork, confidence building, and leadership. We also look forward to seeing families at our English Language Advisory Council (ELAC) meeting on January 15.

Finally, a reminder that the enrollment window for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. Families with incoming TK students are encouraged to begin the enrollment process as soon as possible. We’re looking forward to a great rest of the year—thank you for being such a supportive part of our Maple community!

Maple Chorus! Maple Chorus!

Please consider signing up for Maple Chorus for the spring! We were unable to run a chorus for the fall due to low enrollment and would love to bring this wonderful tradition back to Maple. Spring chorus culminates with the All-District Chorus Festival at the Civic Arts Plaza and is a wonderful experience for all future performers! We hope to have Maple Mustangs there.

Food Deliveries Food Deliveries

We have seen an increase in food deliveries for students. To be clear, our office staff CANNOT manage daily food drop offs for students. We cannot guarantee that the student will be able to receive food drop offs in the front office. We do NOT accept Door Dash or delivery service food for students under any circumstances. The delivery driver will be turned away. Please limit food drop offs to emergency situations only as it is a burden on our hard working front office staff. Our district is proud to offer free lunch for every student on campus every day. Please save special food from restaurants for our family picnic lunch days and encourage your student to remember to bring their lunch or order from the cafeteria.

Special Education District Advisory Committee (SEDAC) Updates

Special Education District Advisory Council (SEDAC)

What is SEDAC?

A district advisory council made up of parent/caregiver representatives, who currently represent over 2000 students with IEPs or 504s, and their families from CVUSD school sites and programs, preschool to post secondary.

Our Purpose:

We advise and support the CVUSD in ensuring high quality special education and related services for all students who have IEPs or 504s. In collaboration with district administration we work to improve the educational experience and outcomes for students by providing recommendations on polices, procedures and resources related to special education services.

Committee sign-ups - our committees is where much of our district recommendations come from. They meet outside of our meeting time, some meet virtually. I’ll be sending you a Google link if you’re interested in joining one . Just a few to mention, safety committee, communication and many more. You do not have to be a rep to sign up for these.

Unity Day and Inclusive Schools week events - school are planning, our Disability Inclusion Toolkit is a great resource

Highlighting Instances of Inclusion - Sedac would love to highlight those staff members at our schools who are taking steps towards meaningful inclusion. Not only does this help give us all ideas of what can be done, but it also acknowledges our hard-working staff and we know just how much that can mean to be seen and valued.

Happy to discuss further if you have any questions.
