Message from our Principal
Welcome Future Pioneers – School of Choice Season Has Begun!
Good evening,
My name is JC Baxter, Principal of Simi Valley High School, and I’m excited to share that School of Choice season is officially here for all 8th grade students and their families!
I’m sending you a newsletter packed with information about the amazing things happening on our campus, from academics and athletics to our performing arts, clubs, and student life. This is an exciting time, and we want to help you make the best decision for your next four years.
I highly recommend that all families attend one of the many tours offered at our high schools. Here at Simi Valley High School, our first three December tours are already full, but please don’t worry, we will always find a date for you. We want every family who is interested to have the chance to see our campus in action.
We are also hosting our Pioneer Showcase on Wednesday, December 10th from 6:00–7:00 PM in the SVHS Gym. This is another way to experience Simi Valley High School. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators, and support staff, and to explore the incredible programs we offer. All of the details can be found in the newsletter being sent to the email address we have on file.
Whether you are already planning to attend Simi High or are still exploring your options, I strongly encourage you to join a tour and/or attend our Showcase as you get ready for the next exciting chapter of your life.
I truly look forward to meeting many of you soon. And if you choose to attend another high school in our district, please know that they are also wonderful places, I encourage you to attend their tours as well.
Wishing you and your family a restful Thanksgiving.
Have a great evening, and Go Pioneers!

Future-Ready Pathways
Pathways provide students will important connections to teachers in their area of expertise which ensures programs are leveled to students' knowledge and skills. Coursework ensures a breadth of knowledge and skills which best prepare students for a career immediately after high school, a career technical program, or a focused college program. Within each course, teachers seek to provide 5 Essential Career Connections during the year. The breadth of these programs is partnered with the Ventura County Community College District and the Career Education Center from the Ventura County Office of Education. County Leader for Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment is an outstanding opportunity for current high school students to take college courses and achieve dual credit. SVHS has a working partnership with Moorpark College providing more and more opportunities for our students to take these courses on either Simi High's campus after regular school hours or at the college campus.

Our artists learn confidence, collaboration, discipline, and the courage to take creative risks. Whether it’s the rush of opening night, the precision of a concert performance, or the pride of seeing artwork displayed for the community, these programs bring our campus together and showcase the incredible talent of our Pioneers. Simi Valley High School’s arts programs inspire expression, elevate student voice, and build a foundation of creativity that lasts a lifetime.
