Hello Glennwood Families,
It has been another incredible week of learning and connection here at Glennwood! I love the energy in our building right now, and I am so proud of how our students and staff continue to show up with such positivity and focus every single day.
I want to start by saying how much I am personally enjoying our One Crew, One Book campaign. It has been so rewarding to see our entire community diving into the same story, and I truly hope you and your families are enjoying the reading experience as much as I am.
To keep that excitement going, we have a very special surprise planned for tomorrow morning’s Community Circle! I don’t want to give too much away, but you definitely won’t want to miss it. It’s going to be a wonderful way to celebrate our shared love for reading and our Glennwood Crew.
Calling All Rising Kindergarteners!
In this week's Eagle Edition, you will find a flyer for our upcoming K-Day. This is such an exciting milestone, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest and youngest Eagles for their very first Glennwood experience!
If you have a rising Kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year, please be sure to review the flyer and sign up for a time slot using the SignUpGenius link. This is a vital opportunity for us to connect with our incoming families and give our future students a warm introduction to their new school home.
In addition to getting acquainted with the building, students will participate in a quick assessment so we can gauge where they are academically as we prepare for the fall. We are already looking forward to seeing those new faces!
Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to make our school community thrive. I'll see you at the Community Circle tomorrow with our Boys in Action hosting!
In partnership,
Bill Howard
Proud Principal, Glennwood Elementary
Spring Progress Reports Available!
We are pleased to share that your child's Spring progress report is now available in the Parent Portal.
Please note that this report card represents a mid-semester snapshot of your child's academic progress and does not reflect final grades. Teachers will continue to update grades and provide feedback throughout the remainder of the year as learning continues.
We encourage you to review the report card with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss any areas where additional support may be helpful. Ongoing communication among families, students, and teachers is an important part of supporting student success.
If you have questions or concerns about your child's progress, please don't hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or school administration. We are committed to partnering with you to support your child's growth and learning.
Directions for accessing grades in the Parent Portal are on page 23 of the Grading and Reporting Handbook.

Specials Spotlight - What's Happening in Spanish?
-In Kindergarten we have been learning about fruits and vegetables. The students were able to write about their favorite fruit and draw a picture of it.
-In First grade, students were able to put a few fruits and vegetables that they like on a plate (paper).
-In Second grade, students wrote about their favorite drink. Our unit included all the food groups.
Last week, we finished the lessons for our new personal safety curriculum (A21). In Kindergarten, students learned the difference between a trusted, safe person and a tricky, unsafe person, and to identify how they may feel in an unsafe situation. In 1st grade, students learned how to identify when an individual’s personal body boundary has been violated, and different ways that they can protect their personal space. In 2nd grade, students learned the difference between safe and unsafe secrets. All 3 lessons emphasized the need to tell trusted adults when they are in an unsafe situation and need help. Beginning this week, I will teach a lesson emphasizing our SOAR norms and what that may look like in the academic setting. I will continue with some new fun, educational lessons for the remainder of the year!
