Missed Our Community Conversations? Here’s Another Chance!
Our recent Community Conversations were such a success that we’re hosting two more sessions next month. Join us at the time that works best for you:
-
Monday, November 3 at 12:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m.
If you value library programs, rely on library services, or care about the role libraries play in building strong communities, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss. Together, we’ll discuss how libraries are funded, how your tax dollars are used, and what’s at stake with new legislation.
These sessions will also shine a spotlight on the Danville Library Foundation, highlighting the impact they’re making during this critical time, and sharing how you can get involved to support the Danville-Center Township Public Library.

NEW RELEASE - "The Women of Wild Hill" by Kirsten Miller
Crystal, Community Relations Specialist recently read The Women of Wild Hill by Kirsten Miller and recommends it to anyone who enjoys a little bit of fantasy and magic that still has realistic plot lines. Here's what Crystal had to say:
Kirsten Miller, who also wrote Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books, has a brand-new release, and I found it to be the perfect October read! It’s a fantasy story with magical elements, featuring modern-day witches connected to a witch from the past. Even with the fantasy aspects, the story has a strong, relatable plot that focuses on family, ancestry, and strong female characters. I was hooked from the very beginning. I don’t usually read fantasy (outside of the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas), but this one struck a perfect balance of relatable characters and storylines paired with just the right amount of magic, making it a really fun read for this time of year.
ARC REVIEW - "Good Spirits" by B.K. Borison
"You make me hope, Harriet. You make me want. You haunt me, Harriet."
Kaylee, Programming Manager had the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of Good Spirits, B.K. Borison's newest book, set to be released on October 21st. Here's what Kaylee had to say:
This was a surprisingly emotional read! It has amazing, cozy Christmas vibes, and I honestly had to resist the urge to turn on the holiday music in September! Nolan and Harriet have a very moving story, and this book is perfect for anyone who feels like they don’t know their place or their purpose in the world. This new release is a great start to your holiday reading!
"The Land of Sweet Forever" by Harper Lee
The Land of Sweet Forever is a revelatory collection that offers a rare glimpse into the lesser-known sides of Harper Lee—the ambitious young writer, the thoughtful essayist, and the sharp observer of both Southern and urban American life. Bringing together her early short fiction and later nonfiction, this volume showcases the evolution of Lee’s distinctive voice while exploring themes of equality, creativity, and love.
This book is perfect for anyone interested in mid-20th-century culture, literary history, and thoughtful short stories and essays.
"10 Rules for Raising Kids In a High-Tech World" by Rebecca Ross
In her empowering new book, Generations author and psychology professor Jean M. Twenge, PhD, offers a practical guide to raising resilient, independent children in a tech-driven world. Drawing on years of study and her experience as a parent, she presents ten evidence-based strategies, including delaying social media and setting tech-free zones, to help families build healthy boundaries.
This book is ideal for parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone seeking to support children in a tech saturated world.
"The Blonde Who Came In From the Cold" by Ally Carter
Longtime rival spies, Alex and Michael, wake up handcuffed and in the dark—with no memory of the last 48 hours and only the certainty that they can’t stand each other. They don’t know where they are, who’s after them, or how they’ll make it out alive. But after years of secrets, disguises, and unresolved chemistry, their toughest mission yet might be simply surviving each other. This was such a fun rom-com with all the best tropes (fake marriage, forced proximity, rivals-to-lovers), a dash of amnesia and a sprinkling of swoon worthy moments.
Perfect for anyone who enjoys action filled romances, dual POVs, and a strong female lead.
