Dear 10th and 11th graders:

We are recruiting students to be New Student Orientation Team Leaders (OTLs) on August 28th, next year's first day of school. This event is designed to welcome the incoming freshman class and any other older transfer students and exchange students.

The new students will be divided into small groups and assigned two OTLs to guide them through activities designed to familiarize them with the building, our procedures, school culture, staff, and most importantly, get their year off to a smooth start.

Other than the morning of August 28th, the only other requirement is a two hour training on Monday, August 26th 1-3:00.

Please fill out this google form if you are interested in helping out as an OTL. Thank you for considering it. Your participation makes a big difference for the new students!

Best,

Lissa Knauss

Hello MHS Community,

We hope you are well, had a wonderful weekend, and all is good. We had a fantastic Graduation on Friday to celebrate teh class of 2024. Thank you to Sierra Norford and Kathryn Nunnelly for planning and organizing. Thank you to the students who performed and presented speeches, Jamie Connor as the faculty speaker, and the MHS staff for your participation.

This email contains the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday and information about Wrap-Up Day. Please let us know if you have any questions. Grades close for all students by 3:00 p.m.-Thursday. Our last day of school is Wednesday, June 19, at 12:35 pm.

On Saturday night, June 15, individuals stole our American Flag and replaced it with a Palestinian flag. We are very sorry this happened and have reported the incident to the Montpelier Police Department. If anyone has any information, please pass it on to us.

Overall, we are delighted with how our MHS year went. We had athletic successes, beautiful performances from Masque, our Choir, Jazz and Orchestra Bands, creative fine arts, community events, and connections and learnings in the classrooms. We are super excited to see what next school year brings for MHS.

As we approach the end of this year, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff members who have decided to move on from MHS. Kiannna Bromley, Brian Herrick, Ricky Powell, Sierra Norford, Diana Hart, Katy Dezotell, and Val Belanger, your dedication to MHS, commitment to students, and mentorship have been invaluable. We are in the process of finalizing our new hires and will announce them in the welcome back letter in July or August.

Thank you to our caregivers for your help, support, communication, and snack donations this year. We appreciate all you do for MHS, our shared students, and our community.

As we approach the end of this school year, we hope you all take the time to relax and recharge during the summer break. Stay cool, and have a wonderful summer. We look forward to seeing you all back on August 28!

Sincerely,

Jason

Wrap Up Day Notes

Things to Know:

1. Continue to check the adaptive scheduler to see if you have been called back. That has stayed the same. For example, if you were called back for block one on Tuesday, you will still be called back tomorrow.

2. If you are called back, you will need to attend. There are no other makeup opportunities. If you have yet to be called back or communicated with a teacher, you do not need to be at MHS for that block. Continue checking each day and morning.
3. Breakfast will be available

4. Bag lunches will be available in the cafeteria. You need your PIN.

5. The bus to Roxbury will leave by 12:40 each day.

6. Return your Chromebook. Clean your lockers, and return your library books and athletic uniforms -by Wednesday.

7. Your classroom for make-ups may have been moved to a cooler location on the first floor. Please double-check the posted signs and go to the new location. And I hope to send out a room list later today.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
