From Mr. Mullins From Mr. Mullins

As we finish our second full week of school, we can officially say that we are back in the groove of learning. AS lessons get under way and students begin to learn new skills, we continue to review expectations so that every classroom is inclusive and inviting for every student. School may be a place where we learn, but our first goal is to ensure that students are safe and cared for each and every day.

Each morning, we say the Bulldog Pledge. Many of us have the pledge memorized, but do we really understand the words we are saying?

Ask your child these questions:

  • What it means to be a respectful learner?
  • What does it mean to be responsible at school?
  • What do it mean to be safe at school?

Car Rider Reminder

To ensure safety at all times, remember that morning car riders need to remain in their car until our doors are opened. Students are not to be walking around outside of the vehicle.

Lunch Visitors

Want to eat lunch with your child? We always welcome visitors for lunch each day, but outside food is not permitted. Visitors may purchase a lunch from the cafeteria.

Transportation Changes

If you need to change your child's transportation, please send a note in to the front office. This is especially needed if you are having someone other than yourself pick up your child. We are unable to release students to anyone without parent permission in writing first.

Policy Change Policy Change

As of today, the Kentucky Board of Education has changed their recommendation on sign-in and sign out procedures. The changes are to ensure privacy so parents do not see names and information of other students listed on the form. ** From this point forward, when you sign your child in or out, you will need to present your ID to office staff who will complete the information on the log for you, fold the page in half and then have you sign your name.

We appreciate your patience as we implement this new policy change.

SBDM Parent Minority Representative Needed

LJES has over 8% minority within our student population and need a minority parent representative for the SBDM Council. PTA is extending the nomination period by one week in order to gather nominations to fill this vacant seat. If you are interested, reach out to the PTA at ljespta1@gmail.com or to Mr. Mullins at daniel.mullins2@bullitt.kyschools.us.
Want to celebrate a teacher or staff member for going above and beyond or for being helpful? Click the link below to send a shout out to Mr. Mullins that he can share with that staff member to celebrate them!

Best in Class Award

Have you connected to your child's classroom through 'Rooms?' If you have not yet connected or if you are having trouble, check out the resource page created by the district to assist.
