Greetings, Jefferson Families and Friends:
With January already half gone, I feel like this semester is going to fly by even faster than the first semester! We have had a few staff changes since right before Christmas Break, including the addition of several paras: Laniya Alexander, Sheila Seger, Mathea Torez, Angelica Trevizo, and Jose Ruano. Mr. Jorgensen has resigned as PE teacher, so we welcome Mr. Matt Epley as our PE Substitute teacher to get us through the year while we search for a new PE teacher for next year.
We are planning some fun activities for this semester starting with HAT DAY next Friday. Friday, January 27, is the 100th Day of School. Many classes will be doing some activities for this and we will end the day with something fun!
Parent Teacher Conferences will be Monday, February 6, and Tuesday, February 7, from 4:00-8:00pm. The teachers will schedule those with you very soon. There will be no school Friday, February 10 nor Monday, February 13. Make sure those are on your calendar. We are looking at doing our PTO sponsored Bowling day at Wild Bill’s on Wednesday, February 15. We were not able to get transportation on the 14th this year. It will be a fun time.
Because it is winter and we do have snow and other weather, please make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the weather. Students that are wearing snow boots are allowed to play in the snow, as long as they have other shoes to change back into. If students do not have snow boots, ie. tennis shoes, they will stay on the blacktop. Remember also that our policy for Walking Club in the morning is: “Feels Like 15* or Warmer,” and we walk outside before school.
Enjoy the winter months and all that comes with it! It will be spring soon enough.
