New Bell Schedule
Beginning with the 2026β2027 school year, the student instructional day will be:
MondayβThursday & Designated Instructional Fridays: 9:10 a.m. β 5:15 p.m.
Office Hours:
The school office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Staff are available during these hours to assist students, families, and visitors.
Student Supervision Notice:
For student safety, supervision is available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Students may not be dropped off before 8:30 a.m. At the end of the school day, all students must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. unless they are participating in a school-sponsored activity under staff supervision.
School Supplies
As we prepare for the new school year at AVECHS, we're excited to share that all students will receive their school supplies on the first day of school. Families do not need to purchase school supplies before the school year begins.
The only item students will need to bring is a backpack to carry their supplies and school materials.
If a course requires any additional class-specific materials, the classroom teacher will communicate those needs after the school year begins. This ensures families only purchase items that are truly necessary.
AVECHS is committed to removing barriers so every student is prepared for success on the first day of school. We look forward to welcoming our Mighty Owls back for an outstanding school year!
Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up
Before School Drop-Off: No earlier than 8:30 AM daily.
After School Pick-Up: No later than 5:30 PM daily.
Bus Transportation
Bus routes and transportation information for the 2026β2027 school year are still being finalized. We understand families are eager to receive this information and will share routes, pickup/drop-off times, and other transportation details as soon as they become available.
If you need bus transportation information before it is released, please contact Boone Transportation directly at (575) 882-3613 for assistance.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as final transportation plans are completed.
Student Drivers
Parking Permit Deadline: August 28th
All students that wish to park on campus must provide proof of a valid driverβs license, vehicle registration, and insurance.
Please remember: Parking at AVECHS is a privilege, not a right. Students who repeatedly disregard school policies or procedures may have their parking privileges revoked.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and respectful campus!
Attendance Matters
At AVECHS, attendance is essential to student success.
Because our courses follow a fast-paced semester schedule, missing just one day of class is equivalent to missing two instructional days in a traditional school setting. Every lesson builds on the previous one, making it difficult to recover from missed instruction.
To stay on track, we encourage students to:
- β Attend school every day and arrive on time.
- β Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
- β Communicate with teachers in advance if an absence is unavoidable.
- β Complete missed assignments promptly and seek support when needed.
Every day counts. Every class matters. Every opportunity begins with showing up!
Student Handbook
Parents and students should review:
- Attendance
- Dress Code
- Cell Phone Expectations
- Academic Integrity
- Behavior Expectations

- Graduation Requirements
