Brahma Weekly Updates
Spring Break: April 10 - April 17, 2020
Hello Brahmas,
Happy Spring Break, or should I say "Screen" break. This is a good time to take a break from our monitor screens and connect with each other.
This is a unique Spring Break, to say the least. Many had plans to go camping, visit family and enjoy the time off. Now we are challenged to find different ways to relax. One thing is for certain, we have precious time right now, and I hope you are making the most of it! Keep connecting with each other, and being innovative with technology and how you show care for others.
Class of 2020 - We want to celebrate your Post-Secondary Plans!
A Message from our Sophomore Class President, Akash George
Hello *Juniors*!
Oh wait ...we aren't there JUST yet.
This is Akash George, your class of 2022 president! As my sleep schedule slowly starts to resemble that of an owl, I have been thinking about how abruptly our year came to an end. We lost trips, competitions, dances, and entire sports seasons.
But what did we GAIN?
A chance to catch up on MUCH needed sleep
The time to catch up with old friends online
Inspiration to finally start that THING that you have always wanted to do
Family bonding time (No social distancing necessary at home!)
An opportunity to get ahead on your APs and academics
Building on the last point, I asked a friend who recently got into Pomona College for some tips.
“Be productive during the quarantine. You will never have this much free time again!”
Productivity doesn’t mean spending 8 hours at your desk balancing chemical equations, and contextualizing the Renaissance.
Instead, I think he wanted us to realize that this is OUR TIME. Take advantage of it!
Personally, in my free time, I've been speed clicking through Instagram stories and testing the limits of my phone’s battery.
Also for some reason, Netflix keeps asking me:
“Are you still watching: The Office (U.S.)”
On the bright side, I have been working with my dad on learning the basics of the stock market!
I miss everyone tons, and I look forward to seeing you after the smoke clears!
Remember to send thank you messages to any seniors that impacted your life :)
Thank you sophomores!
Akash George
