Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4| WEEK 3| 31ST OCT 2025
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of our Holy Rosary community.
For our students who learn, laugh, and grow with joyful hearts -
may they continue to use their gifts to shine Your light in our world.
We are grateful for our grandparents and special friends
who share wisdom, love, and gentle guidance.
Bless them with good health and peace.
We give thanks for our teachers and staff,
whose dedication and care nurture our children each day.
Fill them with strength, encouragement, and the knowledge
that their work truly makes a difference.
As we journey through this term,
help us to be kind, patient, and supportive of one another.
Guide us to walk in Your love,
celebrating each other’s successes
and facing challenges with faith and courage.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Dear Families,
It has been a joyful and busy week at Holy Rosary, full of learning, celebration, and community connection - all the things that make our school such a special place.
Our students have continued their Make a Move dance program with great enthusiasm. It has been wonderful to see children collaborating in their groups, sharing ideas, encouraging one another, and bringing so much creativity and energy to their dance pieces. We are all looking forward to seeing these dances showcased at our Christmas Concert later this term!
This week Holy Rosary also participated in the CPSSA Inter-School Athletics Carnival, with our students competing against seven other Catholic Primary Schools - many of which are much larger in size. Our students demonstrated outstanding resilience, teamwork, and spirit, competing through bursts of sunshine and periods of rain with determination and smiles on their faces. We were particularly proud of our Leaderball events, with our Year 4, 5, and 6 teams dominating and showing incredible speed, coordination, and composure under pressure. A huge thank you to Mr Rob Flexman for his tremendous preparation and organisation, and to the staff who attended to support our students. We are so proud of every child who represented Holy Rosary - they tried their very best and displayed wonderful sportsmanship.
Grandparents Day this afternoon was truly a highlight. It was beautiful to see so many grandparents joining their grandchildren for lunch, visiting classrooms, and experiencing a little snapshot of school life. The joy on children’s faces as they shared this special time with their loved ones was heartwarming, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special.
This morning our Pre-Primary classes joined together for Mass. Our Pre-Primary readers spoke so clearly and confidently! Thank you to the parents who attended and to those who stayed for morning tea afterwards - your presence and support always make these occasions feel extra meaningful for our little ones.
A reminder that Parent Helper Inductions will continue each Thursday morning at 8.35am in the library for Pre-Kindy to Year 3 families. These brief sessions ensure all parents are confident and prepared to support classroom learning, and we welcome and encourage your involvement.
We also take a moment this week to celebrate and congratulate Mrs Caroline Mullins, who was recognised by Catholic Education WA on Monday for 30 years of service. This is an extraordinary milestone that reflects Caroline’s deep commitment, kindness, and dedicated service. We are so grateful for all she brings to Holy Rosary - congratulations, Caroline!
Today we also recognised World Teachers’ Day. We are incredibly blessed with an exceptional staff team here at Holy Rosary - educators who are passionate, skilled, and deeply committed to nurturing our students academically, emotionally, and spiritually. We hope all of our teachers felt appreciated and celebrated today. Thank you for everything you do - you are truly valued.
We are very excited for our Colour Lapathon next Wednesday! This is always a favourite event for our students, and we look forward to a bright, fun-filled day together.
Thank you for your continued support, warmth, and partnership. We wish you a wonderful weekend ahead and look forward to another great week together.
Warm regards,
Grace Dwyer
Acting Principal

National Parent Survey
The Australian Government is delivering policies to delay children’s access to social media. From 10th December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account. Your voice matters. By completing this 2-minute survey, you are helping Catholic School Parents Australia (CSPA) understand the real experiences, challenges, and hopes of families in our Catholic school communities. The insights gathered will directly shape our advocacy with Catholic Education authorities and Government. The survey will close on 31st October.

🎶✨ Congratulations, Audrey! ✨🎶
We are so proud of Audrey in Year 2, who has been awarded First Prize and the “Exceptional Young Talent” Special Prize in the 2025 International Music Competition "Paris" Grand Prize Virtuoso! 🏆🎹
Audrey has also been invited to perform at The Studio of the Opéra Bastille in Paris, France, on Friday, December 12, 2025, to perform Joseph Haydn’s Sonata in C Major, Hob. XVI:22. 🎼🇫🇷
What an incredible achievement, Audrey — your Holy Rosary community is so proud of you! 💛👏
It is hard to believe that the end of the year is fast approaching. Thank you to students and families who are returning and replacing lost or damaged books. At present, the library has 187 overdue books. Please contact me if you have any queries so that I can check if the book is in the library and let you know what to look out for at home.
The library has been freshened up with new shelving thanks to fundraising from the Scholastic Book Fair in term 2. I am so grateful for the support from our community so that we can replace equipment and keep the library looking magnificent. Thank you also to Tory who coordinates the Scholastic Book Club each term. The library receives so many free books because of all purchases through Book Club and Tory’s help.
It was wonderful to welcome Grandparents to view the lovely library space today. Thank you for visiting!

“Grandparents hold our hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever.”
All past Seasons For Growth students have been reconnecting over the term in support sessions. Year 6 SFG students will come together again as a whole group later in the term to support them with their transition to high school.
A reminder to parents to log in to use the incredible resources on offer on the URStrong website. A timely lesson for technology use at home can be found here https://urstrong.com/resource/urstrong-classroom-navigating-friendships-online/
With online social media restrictions coming into place, communications with students about online friendships are vital. Many students tell me that they game online with people they do not know. The eSafety Commissioner has many helpful resources to support you in conversations with your child and provides up to date information about abuse towards children online.

Children’s Liturgy
Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will be having Children’s Liturgy at 10am mass on Sunday 9th November 2025. Children from 5-11 years of age are welcome to attend.
Parents, please sign your child in at the main entrance to the church. Fr Peter will call the children forward after the entrance hymn. They will share the Liturgy of the Word together and be back at the offertory. Hope to see you there.
Health Notices for Our School Community
This week, we’ve had confirmed cases of Influenza A and Gastro.
To help prevent the spread of illness, the Boorloo Public Health Unit strongly recommends practicing good hand hygiene and proper cough etiquette. They also advise that children who are unwell stay home to rest and recover.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community healthy.
