2026-2027 School Theme
Our school theme this year is Experience the Magic! We are excited for students to learn that they are a part of the magic that happens here at Centerville Elementary School. Together we will work to develop qualities that make our school a place where students experience high levels of learning in a safe and inclusive environment. One way to do this is through our LETTERING Challenge.
We will focus on one character trait each month. Students will have the opportunity to complete the steps outlined in the LETTERING Challenge booklet that will be sent home the first week of school. Completing each step will help your student develop that trait. Each student who completes all the steps for the month will earn that month's letter, which will be printed on a star brag tag. We hope everyone will earn all the letters for the year-MAGIC.
There will also be a bonus letter, E for Excellence. Students will complete their own Excellence Project to earn this letter. You will want to start this project by second term. Information about this project will be in the LETTERING Challenge booklet so you can begin to think about ideas early. Seeing everyone's projects on display will be one of the highlights of our year!
Back to School Night & Popsicles with the Principal
When: Wednesday, August 19th
Time: 5:30-7:00 pm.
Come meet your teacher, see your classroom, connect with other families, and kick off an amazing school year!
Our back-to-school night will begin together as a group at 5:30 pm in the gym with a presentation from the principal. The remainder of the evening will be open house style where you can visit students' classrooms, sign up for PTA, and enroll in free and reduced lunch. When you are finished, head outside and enjoy a popsicle with the principal! We will conclude our night at 7 pm so teachers and students can go home and get a good night's rest before our first day of school.
First Day of School
Our first day of school will be one to remember! We are so excited to have our Kindergarten class join us on the first day of school this year. Please bring your students to the back of the school where they will line up with their teacher and receive a grand welcome from parents, teachers, and staff as they enter the building at the rear of the school. This will begin at 8:50 am when the first bell rings.
Welcome to our new teachers at Centerville!
