How do we begin the day at CCS?

With a song and Bible teaching! We love our morning devotion time!

  • Romans 8:38-39
  • Exodus 3:1-6
  • Exodus 3:11-14
  • Romans 5:3-4

CHOOSE Act Funds for 2026-27

There are two application dates for the 2026-2027 academic year – one for renewing family applications and one for new family applications.

  • A renewing family application pertains to a family with participating student(s) that received a CHOOSE Act ESA digital wallet for the 2025-2026 academic year. These families can renew current participating students and add siblings of participating students starting December 15, 2025, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026. A renewing family must renew. It is not an automatic renewal.
  • A new family application pertains to a family that has not previously applied for CHOOSE Act Alabama; or a family applicant that applied for the 2025-2026 academic year but was either not awarded, or did not complete the award affidavit in ClassWallet. These families can apply starting on January 2, 2026, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026.

Varsity Basketball

The Varsity Lady Lion season came to a close this week in postseason play. The girls came in as runner-up in the area, losing to an excellent Meek team. On Friday night they faced Athens Bible in the sub-regional game. It was a great game to watch and a great accomplishment to make it this far into the playoffs.

Although Friday's loss ended the season, the girls had a great run. More importantly, the girls showed great composure, sportsmanship, and Christlike character throughout! We are very proud of our Lady Lions!

Youth County Tournament

The 6th Grade Boys advanced to the finals of the Cullman County Tournament where they faced an outstanding Good Hope team. Saturday night's final was an exciting game to watch! Fans cheered throughout the game and all the players did a great job.

The final score did not end in our favor, but the show of character and spirit of competition was unbeatable. This team had a phenomenal run with over 90 wins throughout their youth league playing years.

Congratulations to the team on a fantastic season! We are proud of you!

What Matters Most

Both the Varsity and Youth basketball divisions earned some great accolades on the court this season. However, more importantly, the players are learning how to keep priorities in order and how to represent Christ.

A great example of this came into play this week with one of our senior guards. Miss Zoe Powell, an outstanding athlete and basketball player, was not present for the sub-regional game on Friday. Zoe, instead, boarded a plane and is currently serving with a missions team on the other side of the world in Greece. While she was definitely missed on the court, we know that her work for the Lord is the top priority!

The number of points scored in a ballgame are nothing compared to the number of souls that can be touched when we align our priorities with God's. This is winning!

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

-Colossians 3:23-24
