Dear Sierra Bonita Families,

We’re in full swing as we kick off September! Our School Carnival is just around the corner—Monday, September 8th. We’ll have plenty of fun games, activities, and delicious food for everyone to enjoy.

All proceeds and donations will go directly toward funding field trips for all Sierra Bonita students. We’re so grateful for your support and can’t wait to provide our students with some amazing experiences.

Thank you for your support so far with our new school safety procedures. We know it’s an adjustment, and we truly appreciate the effort you’re making to help us keep Sierra Bonita safe.

Our top priority is the safety of every child. These procedures aren’t meant to cause inconvenience—they’re preventative measures that are in place not just here at Sierra Bonita, but throughout Nebo School District and the state of Utah.

Please remember, every step in the process matters. Don’t bypass the system just to save a few seconds—it’s not worth the risk.

We love having parents visit our school! Our friendly office staff is always happy to greet you, say hello, and help however we can. This is how we keep our school community strong.

So please, continue to follow our school safety procedures:

• Enter only through the front doors when visiting the school.
• Check in/out at the office if you need to walk your child to class or visit with a teacher.
• Pick up a new visitor pass each day/visit-stickers can't be reused.

These steps help us know exactly who is in the building and ensure we can respond quickly in any situation. For them to work, everyone needs to follow them-no exceptions.

Please don't challenge Sierra Bonita staff about these procedures in the moment. If you ever have a question or concern, I'm always happy to talk things through with you directly. We have a caring, dedicated team who is working hard to keep every child safe.

We understand that some students may feel nervous about going to school or heading into class on their own, but part of our job is helping them develop and grow into independence-skills that will serve them well beyond the school doors.

There will be no school on this day due to a District Development Day.

SEP Night will be Thursday, September 18th.
A link will be sent soon so you can sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher.

This is a great opportunity to:

• Review your child’s latest reading assessment

• Set goals together for the rest of the year

• Ask questions and celebrate progress

The Book Fair will also be open all week—stop by and check it out!
