Finish the School Year STRONG!
Hello Prairie Trail Families,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we encourage all of our students to finish strong! This is an important time for learning, growth, and celebration. While we have many fun activities and special events planned, meaningful instruction continues each day, and every moment counts.
We ask for your support in maintaining consistent routines at home, including regular bedtimes and school-day expectations. Daily attendance remains a top priority, as each day builds on the last and helps students stay connected and successful.
Just as important, we encourage our students to finish the year strong behaviorally—showing respect, responsibility, and kindness in all they do. Together, we can ensure a positive, productive, and memorable end to a wonderful school year!
Warm regards,
Wendi Vaughn
Proud Prairie Trail Principal
Field Day is FRIDAY!
Field Day is Friday, May 15th. Please see below for reminders about field day for parents and students.
- Pre-register to be a visitor here so you don't miss a minute of the fun.
- Please dress in school appropriate attire. Boys may wear swim trunks that are like shorts with a t-shirt. Girls may wear their swimsuit under their t-shirt and shorts. We will not have kids wearing just a swimsuit during field day.
- Students may wear the rash guard shirts with shorts to prevent sunburns or give more coverage.
- Sunscreen is encouraged! Hats may be worn, but they will get wet!!!
- Ponytails and braids are encouraged to keep long hair out of their faces for a wet and very active day!
- Bring a towel, and a change of clothes including underwear and shoes for after field day. A plastic bag for wet clothes is recommended as well. Save those Crocs and flip flops for after field day, but please wear tennis shoes to field day! We don’t want anyone to slip and fall or get stepped on and have to miss any part of the fun!
- Parents, if you are attending, you must sign-in. If you pre-registered, you can pick up your sticker badge from the tables under the porch at the front entrance. If you did not pre-register, you will need to go inside to check in and get a visitor's sticker. All visitors at field day must have a sticker to verify they are cleared to be on campus. All volunteers will have a volunteer sticker as well. All stickers will be available for pick up at the tables under the porch at the front entrance.
- At the end of session 3, Kinder and 1st grade parents may check their child out early by signing out with the student’s teacher. Only Kinder and 1st grades will have sign out sheets available for early sign out. All others will go through the front office for normal early check out procedures.
Times for Field Day:
- Session 1 - 2nd and 3rd grades 8:15-9:50 am
- Session 2 - 4th and 5th grades 10:10-11:55 am
- Session 3 – Kinder and 1st grade 12:45-2:20 pm

April Volunteer Spotlight: Amber Bearden
As this is Amber’s final year at PTE, we are so sad to see her go, but incredibly grateful for the many years our school has been blessed by her dedication, time, and heart.
Amber has been part of our PTA community for an amazing 9 years! She is a proud mom of four (5th–9th grade) and works in human resources for an engineering company. These days, her hobbies revolve around cheering on her kids and driving them to all their activities, something many of us can relate to!
Amber first got involved at PTE when her boys were in 1st grade and Kindergarten, starting out as a room rep helping teachers with cutting, copying, and whatever else was needed. While she didn’t know much about PTA at the time, she quickly found a love for being involved and supporting the school.
Over the years, Amber has volunteered with so many events, but some of her favorites include holiday parties, Field Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week. She loves the energy and fun of these events and enjoys helping create special moments for both students and staff.
As her time at PTE comes to a close, Amber shares that what she’ll miss most is the people: the amazing teachers, staff, and students who make this community so special. Her family feels truly blessed to have been part of PTE.
Thank you, Amber, for your years of dedication, heart, and service. You have made such a lasting impact on our school community!

Visitors for Lunch other than Parent/Guardian?
Do you have some special visitors who want to have lunch at PTE with a student and the parent/guardian won't be coming with them?
We can help you make that happen. You just need to fill out THIS FORM using an email that is listed for a parent/guardian of the student in Skyward. If you could fill out the form before 9:00 am the day they plan to come to lunch, we can make that happen.
The visitor will still need to bring their ID and check in through the office.
If the parent/guardian will be coming to lunch with the special visitors, there is no need to fill out the form. You being with them is sufficient.
Let us know if you have questions.
Thanks,
PTE Office Staff
