Fall Mums Pick Up on Saturday
We need more BEST Workers!
BEST has now opened opportunities to work at Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium to raise money for student band accounts. Please use the sign-up genius link below if you wish to work an event. This is a great way to earn money directly for your student's account! The more shifts we fill, the more opportunities we receive for future events!
Please note that working these events usually entails standing for a long period of time. Dress code is all black pants, a white shirt to wear under a uniform top, and mostly black shoes. You must also complete a background check with BEST.

All members (except Guard) Need Compression Shorts
Students will need to have black compression wear for our first competition on 9/13.
Here is the link to the recommendation from last season.
Make sure you have these, or something similar, asap. As these shorts will be very form fitting, students are welcome to wear athletic shorts over them until it is time to change into their uniforms.
Notes for the Color Guard
SHOW HAIR (Ladies)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MAep9PkAZ4
We will do this show hair with the following changes:
1. NO bangs/wispy hair framing the face
2. Hair needs to have volume with no fly aways/frizzies. How?
- Use product while doing hair
- Lots of bobby pins
- Apply more product/spray after hair is complete
- Members with thin/fine hair should use texturizing power/product along with their hair spray.
HAIR MUST NOT FALL OUT DURING THE SHOW. USE ENOUGH PRODUCT/PINS SO YOUR HAIR WILL HOLD. IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH HOLDING PRODUCT/PINS…. USE MORE!
SHOW HAIR (Gentlemen)
Hair must be maintained and well-kept for the show. Will need to be styled. Adam will give each guy ideas/examples.

Gloves needed for Brass Members
We are requesting that all brass members purchase a pair of affordable batting gloves to use during practices. These will help our brand new horns stay in great shape by keeping the lacquer on the valve casings in good condition. Our goal is to have these gloves by the end of August, but the sooner the better! Links to possible glove options were included in the ParentSquare message sent out by Mr. Lemon earlier today.
Calling All CDL-Certified Parents & Cab Owners
The Marching Band is gearing up for an exciting season and we need your help to keep the show on the road!
We’re looking for parent volunteers who:
- Hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Own or have access to a cab capable of hauling a semi trailer
- Are willing to help drive the band’s semi trailer to competitions and events throughout the season (9/13 thru 11/8)
Your support is crucial in making sure our students' equipment and props arrive safely and on time. Whether you can commit to one event or the whole season, we’d love to hear from you!
Please feel free to reach out to Jackie Nason (jaclyn.nason@ftcsc.org) or Heather Long (marchingbandliaison@fcbands.org) for more information.

Hosted Events Volunteer Sign Up Now Available
It is time to sign up to volunteer for the five events we are hosting this school year. These events make up approximately 20% of our budget each year. These are the events that are part of the Volunteer Commitment option on the Marching Band Financial Agreement. Marching Band families enrolled in the volunteer option plan payment plan are required to work four (4) total shifts for events hosted by the Franklin Central Band Program. Each shift is approximately 6 hours in length. Exact shift times will be determined closer to each event date. If you are unable to fulfill your event volunteer commitment shifts, a charge of $100 per shift will be assessed. Volunteers must be 18 or older. Current students are not able to fulfill this requirement.
All volunteers must have a Safe Visitor background check on file with FTCSC to work any event. The background check costs $16 and is good for 2 years. If you are unsure whether you have a current background check on file, please email Amanda Gaiser: secretary@fcbands.org

General Fundraising
RaiseRight™
Fundraising for YOU - all year round! No selling, no spending extra time or money… just everyday purchases turned into earnings. All of the money you earn goes straight to your student’s band account to use toward their band fees.
How does it work?
Rebates earned are added to your RaiseRight account. Once a month the RaiseRight Coordinator sends a rebate report to the Treasurer so the funds can be applied to your student’s band account. This will show as a credit line item on your monthly statement. The easiest way to earn is by downloading the RaiseRight app on your phone so you can purchase on the go!
You can also use an "online shopping" tool via RaiseRight to stack your earnings. Please note, credits from taking advantage of the "Online Shopping" tool will take longer to show in their booster credits. RaiseRight will not pay out online shopping credits until 45 days after purchase to assure no item have been returned.
Who can use it?
Any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, or neighbor can sign up for an account to help raise money for your student. They don’t have to live in Indianapolis in order to use it, either! With the convenience of the RaiseRight app, out of town friends and relatives can help you earn too!
How much can I earn?
Really, that is up to you! The more you use, the more you earn. Many of our families have offset their fees by as much as HALF just by using RaiseRight.
More information can be found on the FC Bands website at RaiseRight Fundraising.
