Middle & High School Highlights
Dear Reardan Families,
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. It truly is a joy to work with your students each day. Our staff feels incredibly fortunate to be part of their learning journey, and we appreciate the trust you place in us.
As we review our academic data, we’ve noticed a strong correlation between attendance and students earning D’s and F’s. Simply put, students who are not attending regularly are struggling the most academically. Being present matters.
To support our students and encourage strong attendance habits, we will be launching an Attendance Challenge in January, complete with fun activities and prizes. We’re excited to motivate students positively and build momentum for the second half of the year.
Please help us by ensuring your student attends school daily. Going forward, absences will not be excused without prior communication. If your student is ill, we are happy to excuse illness-related absences; however, after three consecutive days, a doctor’s note will be required.
Thank you for helping us help your children learn by being present, engaged, and ready each day. We wish you and your family a wonderful, restful holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming students back in January refreshed and ready to learn.
Happy Holidays,

A Winter Break Message from the School Nurse
As we head into Winter Break, I’d like to take a moment to wish all of our students, families, and staff a very Happy Christmas and a joyful, restful holiday season.
This time of year is full of celebrations, travel, and togetherness, and it’s also a great opportunity to focus on staying healthy so everyone can enjoy the break to its fullest. A few gentle reminders to help keep you well:
Wash hands often and encourage children to do the same, especially after outings and before meals.
Get plenty of rest — late nights are fun, but sleep is one of the best ways to support the immune system.
Stay hydrated and aim for balanced meals alongside holiday treats.
Bundle up for cold weather and outdoor activities.
If someone isn’t feeling well, listen to your body and take time to rest and recover.
For families traveling, be sure to pack any needed medications and keep them in original containers. And as always, if your child has a medical condition or health needs, maintaining routines over the break can help ease the transition back to school in January.
Thank you for a wonderful first half of the school year. It has been a pleasure caring for our students and partnering with families to support their health and well-being.
May your holidays be filled with warmth, laughter, good health, and special moments with those you love. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!
Warmest wishes,
Shannon Landt

Student Spotlight: Life Outside the Classroom
This month Reardan Students Autumn (5th Grade) and Emmalyn (1st Grade) Wagner auditioned and performed in Spokane's NUTCRACKER at the Spokane Symphony. They spent 4-5 days a week in the dance studio training for this amazing performance. They were honored to perform in 3 of the 6 performances this season, gaining valuable stage experience and confidence. Dance demands focus, perseverance, and commitment, and we love seeing our students recognized for the many different ways they work hard and shine. Congratulations to these girls- Reardan is proud to celebrate many ways dance helps students grow, express themselves, and build skills that carry far beyond the stage.
