Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3| WEEK 8| 12TH SEPT 2025
This Sunday is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
In 326 CE, Emperor Constantine's mother, Saint Helena, discovered the cross upon which Jesus was crucified after locating the site of the Holy Sepulchre. This feast celebrates the central mystery of the Christian faith—that Christ's death on the cross brought salvation to all humanity.
O God,
Who willed that Your Only Begotten Son should undergo the Cross to save the human race,
grant, we pray, that we, who have known His mystery on earth,
may merit the grace of His redemption in heaven.
Amen

Child Found Wandering Highway.
A five-year-old boy was found by police wandering alone along Great Eastern Highway near Northam after disappearing from a shop. Fortunately, I was safely returned to my family without injury. This historic event serves as a powerful reminder of how quickly children can find themselves in dangerous situations when supervision lapses. As a school we provide supervision in the morning from 8:15 am in the undercover area, during school hours and in the pick-up area of the carpark afternoon. The playground area is for the exclusive use of Discovery kids from 3:30 pm and not supervised by the school at the end of the day. Please ensure that you actively supervise your children outside of school hours to support your child’s safety.
May you have a wonderful weekend.
Kind regards,
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal

Health Notices for Our School Community
This week, we’ve seen confirmed cases of Influenza B, Gastro, and RSV, along with many children experiencing symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and stomach aches.
To help prevent the spread of illness, the Boorloo Public Health Unit strongly recommends practicing good hand hygiene and proper cough etiquette. They also advise that children who are unwell stay home to rest and recover.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community healthy.

RUOK? In library this week, students participated in an interactive video that role played how to ask a friend if they are ok. It was wonderful to see them all dress in yellow yesterday and hear them asking their friends each day if they are ok.
As Term 3 draws to a close, just a reminder that if your child has a lost or damaged book/s, they need to be replaced by the end of term. If you are having trouble locating the book to purchase, please do get in contact with me. Thanks for your support of your school library.

RUOK? Staff and students at Holy Rosary are excellent at asking friends and colleagues if they are ok. Thanks to the HR community for wearing something yellow to raise awareness of RUOK? Day and continuing to encourage the culture of kindness we are growing at our school. Friendology also supports healthy relationships at Holy Rosary. The last parent information session of the 10 week series is below. You can continue to log in and access the resources at any time or reach out if you need support finding the appropriate information.
