Fall Show Tickets Sales Have Opened! π«π«π«
We're getting closer to watching our dancers bring The Snow Queen to life! Along the way, Gerda will encounter robbers, flowers, birds, snowflakes, and so much more as she travels north to the Snow Queen's palace.
If you're new to the studio, welcome! We've included a quick overview of important dates and times below.
First, let's talk tickets! Ticket sales are officially open! If you're interested in preordering recital gifts along with your tickets, make sure you read the entire newsletter before heading over to the ticketing page.
Each dancer receives 2 free tickets, and every account holder will receive a coupon code to claim them.
Here's what you need to know:
Check your email: Your code will come from Dance Recital Ticketing, not Elevate. Look for an email from no-reply@drttix.com.
Check your spam folder: Based on past experience, these emails occasionally end up there.
Don't panic if your code doesn't arrive! The codes don't expire until the show starts, and we're happy to resend yours if needed.
You still need to claim your free tickets. The code gives you access to your 2 free tickets, but you must use it to claim them.
Need more tickets? You can purchase as many additional tickets as you need!
We can't wait to share this magical story with you!

Recital Costume Week
October 19 - 24
π It's Costume Week!
We are trying on costumes this week! Here is everything you need to know:
πΈ Photos & Close-Ups
Costume Week: This is your big chance to get up-close photos of your dancer in their costume!
Show Photography: A professional photographer will be at both shows, and we share those photos for free! However, we can't guarantee every single dancer gets captured.
Audience Photos: Taking photos during the show is allowed and encouraged, but keep in mind those won't be close-upsβso recital week is a great opportunity to get those!
π What to Wear During Costume Week
Base Layer: Dancers may wear their base layer to try costumes on and get the best pictures, but it's not required.
Alternative: If not wearing a base layer, please send your child in fitted dance clothes so they can easily slip the costume right over them.
π Show Day vs. Rehearsal Dress Code
Stage Rehearsal: Dancers wear their normal dance clothes for the single stage rehearsal.
Girls: Arrive at the venue in your base layer and put costumes on backstage.
Boys: Take your costume home and get ready at home.
π Why We Do Costume Week Early
The Goal: To ensure every dancer has a properly fitting costume.
If there's a sizing issue (rare): Don't panic! This is exactly why we do trials early. Reassure your dancer that we will have the right size for them by show day.
π§Ά A Note on Sensory Sensitivities
Don't stress: Youβd be surprised how many children breeze past sensitivities when everyone is matching!
If they refuse (rare): We will find a matching alternative costume that they feel comfortable in.
ποΈ Missed Costume Week?
Don't panic! We will figure out another time to try it on.
Backup plan: If we have your dancer's costume in multiple sizes, we may wait until recital dayβrest assured we keep track of everyone and always have extras on hand at the venue!
Halloween Costume Week π
October 26-30 (totally optional!)
The week after recital costume week, dancers are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to class!
π©° The Golden Rule: Can They Dance in It?
While we love making Halloween week fun, we are VERY close to our big shows and still need to work hard on our recital dances.
Safety First: Dancers should only wear costumes if they can truly and safely dance in them.
β¨ Quick Details
Zero Pressure: There is no pressure at allβusually only about 50% of our dancers dress up, so your dancer won't feel like the odd one out either way!
Multiple Classes: If your dancer takes multiple classes this week, they can choose which class to dress up in (or skip dressing up entirely)βit is completely up to them!
Double Take Dance Convention
Local Dance Convention on November 14
We are not affiliated with this convention and cannot answer any questions about it. However, because not a lot of dance conventions (weekend master-class events with visiting choreographers) come through Columbia, we wanted to forward the following opportunity:
