No School Monday
There will be no school on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.
Tuesday – Half Day SIP
Students in grades K–5 will attend from 8:25–11:30 AM on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Preschool Family Connection Day
Tuesday is also a Family Connection Day for preschool. Families and their preschooler will participate in activities that reinforce readiness skills being taught in the classroom. These experiences are a great way to connect with your child and other preschool families.

There are no regular preschool classes for your child on Family Connection Days.

Family Connection Days run from 9:00–10:00 AM. Some sessions will be in person, others on Zoom. The monthly location will be shared in advance.

An adult must accompany the student at Family Connection Days.
Libby the Therapy Dog
We are excited to share that we have collected enough permission slips for Mrs. Toolan’s therapy dog, Libby, to start visiting Irving! Her first day will be this Tuesday. If you haven’t signed your permission slip yet, please do so by HERE.
Welcome Miryea Villafuerte
Through a grant secured by Dr. Havis, our district began a partnership with Youth Crossroads last year to bring therapists into our elementary schools. Initially, this program focused on supporting students with the most severe needs across the district. This year, the program has expanded, and Irving will now have a therapist in our building 1.5 days each week.
We are pleased to welcome Miryea Villafuerte, who will primarily support 4th- and 5th-grade students in need of therapy—especially those not currently receiving social work services at school. Miryea will provide a range of supports, including individual and group counseling as well as family therapy. Most sessions will take place during the school day on the days she is here (Monday afternoons and Fridays).
