Hawks TGIF Dispatch SY 2026-2027

Dear Teachers and Staff,

What an incredible start to the school year! We had a fantastic Week 0, filled with fun videos, collaborative conversations and amazing teamwork to get our school ready. The highlight was our Back to School Bash and seeing all of the families visit. Many of our families started to sign-up for parent portal and pay their fees, but we still have a lot more to go. We will follow up with you this week with who needs to sign-up for parent portal and who needs to submit the fees.

For our first day of school on Monday, teachers, please be sure to have a sign with your name, grade, and homeroom. Annex will have their students line up on the west side of the Annex building. Grades 2-4 will line up by Door 4. Grades 5-8 will line up by Door 6. SECAS, please be outside at your designated arrival location by 7:50 a.m. We want to be sure that we are visible and supportive for all of our families. We have never had a "Kiss and Go" in the past; however, last year there were a lot of families that were driving to school. Let's observe what is happening this week to determine how we can implement this at Henry.

We hope you're able to get some rest this evening and Sunday. Hopefully I didn't forget anything in this newsletter. If so, we will share during the week. Enjoy time with your family and let's be ready to meet our Henry Hawks Monday!

• Remind students to turn in their back to school forms.

• Staff Handbook Acknowledgement Due
• Emergency and Media Release Forms Due

• Please be sure to read through the staff handbook and complete the Acknowledgement and Receipt form in the office and place it in Ms. Reynolds' mailbox: Due Friday, 8/28/26
• Don't forget to log into your Safe Schools Account to complete the required trainings.

Teachers

• Homerooms, collect all emergency forms and media consent forms. Please make a copy and place the copies in the file folder with you homeroom number in the file cabinet under "Henry the Fish". Due Friday, 8/28/25 to the main office.
• Emergency Lesson Plans: Turn them into the main office file cabinet by "Henry the Fish" Due Friday, 9/11/26.
• Present the schoolwide expectations to students in preparation for the assembly on Friday.

PLCs

• Upload Curriculum Night information Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, 9/3/26 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Upload Curriculum Newsletter in Google Classroom by Monday, August 31st.
• Lesson Plans will be reviewed weekly. Upload them in Google Classroom.
• Please be sure to complete the ACCESS Score Plotting as well as Unit 1 Internalization work from our Week 0 professional development.

Please share this slideshow with your students during Week 1. As always, remember to explicitly discuss and model these expectations, praising positive behavior and addressing missteps consistently and immediately, especially during these first few weeks. Upholding these standards for all students is a shared effort across our entire staff.

Mark your calendars: Our Welcome Back Assembly is set for this Friday! Keep an eye out for more details later this week.

We hope to start the Wednesday Henry Hawk Communication Folder next week. We are waiting for the shipment. We will keep you updated.
