Fundraiser Available

We have set up an optional fundraiser for students to help them raise money for their trip. Click the link below to purchase either Cluver’s or Hungry Howie’s cards for $12.50 each. You will need to enter your payment amount depending on how many cards you want to purchase (10 cards x $12.50 = $125.00 etc.) Cards are then SOLD for $25. You keep $12.50 from each card sold (a total of $125 for ten cards sold) and apply it towards the cost of the trip. All cards must be purchased through the website link and can be picked up in the main office by the gym from Mrs. Lackowski. Cards are non-refundable, so we recommend starting with 10 and purchasing more as needed. If you have any questions, feel free to email katie.lackowski@romeok12.org or marisha.sunday@romeok12.org.

New Year Thoughts for Middle School Parents

The New Year is a great time to pause, reflect, and reset. As our children continue to grow during these important middle school years, it’s helpful to focus on progress rather than perfection. Middle schoolers are learning how to manage emotions, responsibilities, friendships, and independence—and they will make mistakes along the way.

This year, encourage your child to set realistic goals, celebrate effort, and view challenges as opportunities to learn. Open communication, consistent routines, and patience go a long way in helping them feel supported and confident. Small habits—like staying organized, asking for help, and practicing kindness—often matter more than big resolutions.

Most importantly, remember that your presence and encouragement make a lasting impact. Together, let’s start the New Year with optimism, understanding, and a shared commitment to helping our children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

★ 6th Grade:

2026 is here!!! I have been so impressed with how well our 6th grade students have jumped back into their routines and have started off this new year on a positive note.

  • We took a hiatus from Homework Help this week, but will be resuming next week for any student who is struggling in 2 or more classes.

  • Our Macomb Family Services Girls Group will begin a new session and Positive You will continue to meet on Mondays with about 15 6th grade boys.

  • Finally, it is hard to believe, but 7th grade scheduling presentations will begin in about 2 weeks. I will be going into science classrooms to share the elective options for 7th grade and will be emailing scheduling forms to all students. I will send out a copy of my presentation to parents on January 23rd.

  • As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns and have a great 2026!!!

★ 7th Grade:

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a nice and relaxing holiday with your family :)

  • Mrs. Skover will be starting our lunch Homework Help group back up next week. Students received an email if they currently have more than one “F” in any of their classes. We are almost halfway through the trimester and it is common for students to start losing track of their To-Do’s . Please have your child, or yourself, reach out to me if they need an overall academic check to make sure they are on track!

  • At the end of January, we will start talking about 8th grade!!! Look out for more information from Mrs. Skover as February approaches.

★ 8th Grade:

  • Our Macomb Family Services Girls Group will begin a new session on Tuesday

  • COLLEGEBOARD ACCOUNTS: Starting at the end of January, each 8th grade student will have the opportunity to create a CollegeBoard account. This account will stay with them all throughout high school and beyond. Your student will need:

  • A personal OR parent email to create the account (school email will not work).

  • If one is created, please ensure the email and password are documented somewhere. These accounts are the ticket to seeing scores for any standardized test completed through CollegeBoard (PSAT 8, PSAT 9, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, AP)

  • More information to come!
