A Message From the Principal A Message From the Principal

Dear MVE Families,

It’s hard to believe we are already wrapping up October! Parent Teacher Conferences are just around the corner next week, and we are looking forward to connecting with you about your child’s progress and goals for the year. If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher or contact the front office so we can help you schedule a time. These conversations are such an important part of our home school partnership and a great way to celebrate all the growth your child has made so far this year.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible PTO for hosting our annual Monster Mash! What a fun evening it was for our students and families. From costumes and games to music and treats, it was such a wonderful community event. Thank you for bringing the fun and for all the work behind the scenes that made it happen. We appreciate our PTO so much!

As we head into November, I also want to take a moment to remind our community that this upcoming election is an important one for Cherry Creek Schools. Two Board of Education positions are open, and your voice matters. Please take time to learn about the candidates and cast your vote. Your participation directly impacts our students, staff, and schools.

Finally, we invite all Veterans and active duty service members in our Mountain Vista community to join us for our Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, November 11, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Veterans will visit classrooms to say hello, then gather in the gym for a welcome from our Mammoth Impact group and a performance by our choir. We will conclude the celebration with our Walk of Honor, a special tradition where students and staff line the halls to show their appreciation. We would be honored to have you join us as we recognize and thank those who have served.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. It is such a joy to be part of this Mammoth community!

With appreciation,
Megan Carkhuff
Principal

Arrival/Dismissal Safety Reminder Arrival/Dismissal Safety Reminder

A huge thank you to our amazing crossing guards who help keep our students and families safe every day! Please be sure to follow their directions, stay alert, and wait until students, families, and crossing guards are completely out of the crosswalk before driving forward. Never drive past a crossing guard who is actively stopping traffic.

We’ve also noticed a few cars entering through the exit during dismissal, which creates a dangerous situation for everyone. Please use the designated entrance and take it slow once you’re on school grounds, even as you turn into the drive. We know dismissal can feel busy, but your patience, attention, and kindness makes a big difference in keeping our Mammoth community safe!

Reminder from the MVE Handbook:

All students should leave campus at dismissal. Students may not stay to play on the playground unless supervised by their parent/guardian.

From the Library (Book Fair Information) From the Library (Book Fair Information)

THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS HERE!

Parents, the book fair is a great way to get your kids excited about reading. There is nothing better as a kid than buying some books of your own, adding them to your own personal library at home, and reading and re-reading them over and over. Stop by during the week of parent-teacher conferences, November 3-7.

The book fair is also a great way to support our school library. Every purchase at the book fair helps our school library earn money to purchase new books and replace missing or damaged books. You can also help get more books into classrooms by purchasing books on our teachers' wish lists.

Scholastic Book Fair hours:

Monday, November 3, 3:00 - 6:45 pm

Tuesday, November 4, 3:00 - 6:45 pm

Wednesday, November 5, 2:00 - 4:45 pm

Thursday, November 6, 3:00 - 3:45 pm

Friday, November 7, 8:00 - 10:00 am

The Scholastic Book Fair can only happen with your help. Please check your schedule and, if you can, volunteer using this link:
