Dear Bateman Families and Friends,

There has been a drastic increase in the amount of children becoming ill throughout the school day. We have seen many cases of strep , flu, stomach viruses, and lengthy coughs. As a reminder, please keep your child home from school if they have a fever. If your child complains of a headache, sore throat, or stomachache, please take the time to assess the situation prior to sending them to school.

Our guidelines are as follows:

  • Your child should stay home if their fever is 100 or greater.
  • Please don't administer an antipyretic such as Tylenol or Motrin to your sick child and then send your child to school.
  • If your child vomits the morning of school or the night before, please keep them home. Do not assume it's "something they ate".
  • Seek medical care outside of the school environment.

If your child comes down to the nurses office with any of the above symptoms, we will first ask them to put their head down, drink water or eat something, or try to use the washroom. If they are still not feeling well, we will be calling to have an emergency contact pick up the child. We appreciate your prompt response as we have had several ill children in the building this week.

As a friendly reminder, if a child is sent home from school, they must stay home the following day until they have cleared a full 24 hours fever-free or without any symptoms.

Thank you to all of our Bateman families who have been respectful of our students and staff by keeping their sick children home.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warm Regards,
Ms. Davos & Ms. Kloepper

Report Card Pick Up

Wednesday, October 26th

Schedule Your Conference Time with your child's teacher

At Bateman, we believe in strong parent partnership in order to support each individual child. Next week provides a unique opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to continue a collaborative nature between home and school. All are invited to attend Report Card Pick Up on Wednesday, October 26th. This is a day of nonattendance for students. It is a vital time to discuss your child’s progress throughout the school year, celebrate their accomplishments, and set goals for the remainder of the year. Educators have sent sign up sheets via email to all parents. We encourage you to sign up for a time that works best for you - either in person or virtual.

At Report Card Pick Up, families will be able to peruse the Book Fair, find missing items from the Lost & Found, and check out Fall Spiritwear samples! We hope to see you there.
