Principal's Message

Good Friday Evening SPOTSYCTC Community,

It’s been a busy and amazing week at SpotsCTC! As always our students and instructors are doing amazing things in our building. Some of the highlights from this week include:

  • The CHCORI JROTC Battalion successfully concluded their JPA Inspection on February 20, 2024. Dedication and effort were evident throughout the preparation, resulting in a commendable 95% overall grade. The cadets' diligence paid off as they retained their gold star and the prestigious Honor Unit with Distinction status.
  • SKILLSUSA Members and Advisors have been preparing for District Events. Welding held their competitions last weekend, and tonight, members in Cosmetology, Drafting, Electricity, HVAC-R, and TV/Video Production will be participating. Best of luck to all our members!
  • The students enrolled in the "Teachers for Tomorrow" program have been working hard enhancing their learning experiences through active participation in practicums at local schools.

A brief reminder that there has been a calendar change: March 5, 2024, is now designated as a student holiday and a teacher workday.

Applications deadline to apply for SpotsyCTC programs for the 2024-2025 is March 5, 2024. If you have a rising freshman or older, encourage them to explore the various opportunities offered at SpotsyCTC. With 19 different programs available to SCPS students, our schedule is designed to accommodate every diploma type. It's crucial that they apply as an application is required for consideration in one of our programs. There is more information listed below about all of our programs.

Each week we will take the opportunity to spotlight our students, staff, programs and schools through our newsletters, social media platforms, school announcements and video boards. Stay connected with us through our social media platforms:

At the SpotsyCTC we like to think we stands out as something truly special – we proudly cater to students from all five exceptional high schools and present an array of 19 distinct programs, 9 defined pathways and 24 industry-recognized credentials. Our overarching mission is to equip every student with the readiness to venture into the workforce, pursue higher education, engage in training programs, or even serve in the military. Through immersive, hands-on classroom experiences, we provide students with real-world skills and enable them to dive into Workplace Learning, Job Shadowing, Internship/Externship programs, Student Organizations, and a host of other enriching avenues.

Good luck to all of our students who are participating in activities this weekend and next week. I know we have so many students who are involved in the fine arts, sports, clubs, outside events and other extracurricular activities. This journey requires substantial extra time, countless hours of preparation and a skillful juggling of academics, personal life and sometimes work commitments. Good Luck and continued success and remember The Power of Little Things, Transforming into Big Achievements"!

Please be careful this weekend, especially with the anticipation of heavy rain in the area. I hope you find some time to unwind, recharge, and enjoy precious moments with loved ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday.

2023-2024 theme is: “The Power of Little Things, Transforming into Big Achievements."
