Good Afternoon Killam Families! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿจ

-

I hope youโ€™ve had a wonderful weekโ€”December is rolling right along! As we move through this busy and exciting stretch of the year, I have a few updates to share.

Weโ€™ll be hosting our next PTO meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Killam Library, and weโ€™d love to see you there. Zoom link: https://readingpsma.zoom.us/j/82535858338

In addition, interested 5th graders will be auditioning for The Wizard of Oz on Thursday and Fridayโ€”break a leg to all our performers!

Across the school, weโ€™re working hard to meet some of our beginning-of-year goals before Winter Break. Please take a moment to review our upcoming dates and reminders below to help keep everything running smoothly at home and at school.

Stay tunedโ€”weโ€™ll be announcing our upcoming spirit days next week! Wishing you a great weekend ahead!

Building Project Update ๐Ÿข

The early earthwork package will not begin until May, so recess, arrival, and dismissal will remain the same until future notice!

We are working hard behind the scenes on additional design elements and furniture selection. The committee is also meeting regularly to discuss financials, timeline, bids, etc. You can find this information at killamschool.com.

I am heavily involved in weekly planning meetings, so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!- Lindsey Fulton

Theatre Tech with Mrs. Healey and Mrs. Travis

Step into the spotlightโ€”behind the curtain! In this hands-on enrichment, students will explore the creative world of technical theatre and discover how much teamwork it takes to bring a show to life. From painting sets and designing props to helping with costumes and scenery, students will learn what happens behind the scenes of a musical production.

As part of the experience, participants will help prepare materials for Killamโ€™s school musical, The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition, and even have the opportunity to become stagehands during the performances at RMHS March 27-28th. This is a perfect opportunity for creative thinkers, builders, and artists who love to make magic happen backstage! This class is for 3-5th grade. Click here to register!

โญ Thank You for Your Candy & Food Donations!

Thanks to your generosity and Student Servicesโ€™ help in coordinating collections, we were able to donate 25-lbs of candy and 25-lbs of food (juice boxes, apple pouches, granolas, kid snacks, and beef stew) to the Reading Food Pantry. They were grateful for your kindness. Please continue to think of them and support their mission to help those struggling with food insecurity not only this holiday season but also throughout the year.
